  1. My 11th day is tomorrow.. I had a leak in surgery-the doc caught it and "fixed" it but I continue to think about it. I guess you have to stay on alert for several months. Thank you Sannah.

I am sorry. I understand the apprehension your facing. It's hard not to think 'what if's'

I am just now eating real food. The surgeon who put my stents in and removed them. Told me food can re open the leak!! I frequently wonder if each bite will be the one to reopen my stomach. The fear is real strong. I have to eat and all of the dr kept telling me to eat. After not eating for three me that it's just not that simple. No desire, good doesn't taste good. Vomiting and the pain and nausea (thankfully the esophageal spasm was diagnosed and treated) I no longer have the pain, nausea or vomiting. :)

My leak didn't present with typical symptoms. Just listen to your body!! Any little sign that appears and if you just don't feel okay, get help!! Always better safe than sorry!! I am here for you!! I know leaks are scary and can easily uproot your life and existence. Hang tight!!

    Best,

    Sannah

  2. SANNAH!! Major difference! You can really tell with those side by sides! Even with all the rough times this is why we came to vsg to lose the weight and feel/look better <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Oh miss Laura!! You are truly amazing!! Thank you for always being here to support me!! You have been the most amazing help!! :) thank you kindly!!

    Hugs

    Sannah

  3. Forsure! You really do look great. How much total weight have you lost so far? I think we were sleeved around the same time. As of today I have lost 47lbs. Ive had quite a few stalls but I dont let it bother me.I am just soo happy everything is going better for you and your family. I believe now you can finally enjoy and keep rockin that sleeve:-).

    Hi!

Hooray!! Time to Celebrate your 47lbs lost!!! I am so happy to hear this!! Nice work!!

Thank you for sharing the happiness with me, for me and my family!! I am so happy things in my life are better!!

I was sleeved dec 5th. You? I have lost 71lbs, but a lot is this is due to my leak and being on fluids for three months. I did a lot of Protein shakes. But received help through other medical means. I am learning to eat again. It's hard!! Learning to cook new foods. It's fun!!

    Best,

    Sannah

  4. Have Mercy!!! Just look at you!!! What a difference a sleeve makes!!!

I haven't read about your complications, I will have to find them somehow as I want to read it all (the good, bad, ugly). I'm sorry you had complications, I'm assuming all is okay now? Sure hope so!

You're well on your way to remembering your "before" pics as only a distant memory! So very happy for you!

    Thank you kindly! :)

I am still enduring complications from the leak. However, I am getting better! I have a esophageal spasm, which was caused by damage from two metal stents. I also have kidney stones in both of my kidneys! I see the urologist tomorrow. The pain is immense! I recently started medication for my esophageal spasm and can now eat without severe pain, nausea and vomiting. Since eating and keeping it down I am better able to cope with my kidney troubles.

Have you been sleeved yet? How is your process going so far? I have a thread titled 'Leak?' You can read about my experience. I try to be explicit and transparent. A lot of details were written while I was medicated, but I hope all is clear!

    Wishing you wellness,

    Sannah

  5. Hehe I told the other mothers that sure their kids can come over... That I'm just going to let them drink beer and invite girls over! :P

Hehe.. I did feed them pizza though and then walked them over to the ice cream store to hop them up on sugar first before they went home!!

Sorry your day started out rough... But happy you got to go out on a date!

The radiologist will send his report to my doc in the next couple of days I hope!

Haha the dentist was not "new" she is just into oral health like crazy! X-rays panoramic scan a tiny camera in my mouth to chart every tooth measured my gums?? Lordy my mouth is tired!

Where did you guys go tonight?

    Hey Laura,

Man!!! Well, that exam sounds great!!! Jaw ache?

I love your plan! Pizza and icecream!!! Easy and they will be bumped up when they head home!!!! That is so great!

In Portland, we are really into having our neighborhoods named and they are often uniquely filled with character. We used live in a neighborhood called Hawthorne, its known for liberalism. We went back to one of our favorite little pubs and played some cards. Hubby had a good IPA and we played cards. It was a little slice of heaven!!! We will get back into our older neighborhood with all our hippies!!!

Tell the radiologist to hurry up!! Golly!

    Best,

    Sannah

    Hi Laura!!

Oh my word bird!! Sounds like a busy house this evening!! I bet you were ready for down time!!!

The new dentist sounds a little but crazy!! But thorough is always good!! Is he new to dentistry or is that a normal exam?

Today had a hard start!! Kidney pain!! Blah!! The great news is as the day progressed things eased up! :) So lucky! I was well enough to go out on a date with my hubby tonight!!! :) it was great fun!! :) my sister watched little Venla!! This is our first time going out on a date since surgery!!!

Do you get results from your scan tomorrow?

  8. Hi Sannah' date=' I haven't been on too much , life is crazy here ( good crazy ) but I've been thinking about you .Im an Iv therapy nurse so sometimes I just sit in people's homes for hrs and reading through all your pain and stress . How frustrating ! I'm glad your eating and losing now . For every stone you pass you should name them <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> I heard kidney stone pain is worse than child birth. my thoughts are with you . You are one tough lady ! The phrase "stay strong" is proven 10 folds by you. Good luck this week . I'm just thinking about you <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> ttys[/quote']

    Hi!!

I am so happy to hear from you!! Thank you for messaging me!! I really enjoyed everything you wrote and shared with me.

I am so HAPPY to hear your life is crazy busy in a good way!! :) That is surely great news!! How is your journey going?

Things are becoming much easier these days!! :) it's been four months of challenges. I am starting to realize and feel the impact this has on my mind and body. Somedays I still struggling with not wanting to eat and I have hard days. The good part is I am realizing that I can do anything and make it out on top! It's hard to explain, but I have had a shift in my being. I have always been grateful for those in my life. But there is this deep sense of human relation and compassion for others near me. The people who I never thought would be helpful have turned out to be the best and key players in my life and success. Due to this I see greater hidden value in people. I hope that some how I can return the support and compassion to others.

I have to say nurses are nothing short of AMAZING!! :) Thank you kindly for all you do!! Several nurses that helped me through the darkest days are just GREAT!! I go back and visit them!! They are so lovely!! I am sure you have touched the lives of many people and I hope they are thankful for you!!

Yes!! Yes!! Kidney stones are much worse than labor. I have felt labor and this pain is so small in comparison. Also you have a beautiful baby for all the pain. I am thankful for relief of a stone passing, but a stone isn't equivalent to a baby!! Haha. I am so doing it!! I am naming my stones!!! After all it's a labor of love, for myself!!! I have been reading on kidneystoner.org. Now to find hilarious names!! I am ready and at peace with whatever is to come of the urologist. Surgery? Baring it out alone?!... Who knows right? I will be just fine and will learn something from this.

Thank you so much for following my story. I am humbled by all the support and kind words! :)

    Have a good week!!

    Best,

    Sannah

  9. Hey Sannah' date='

Sounds like fun tomorrow! It's nice when you can do normal life type things <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Our weekend was pretty quite, my son dictated that one! But I did get to work in the yard which is always nice because things get kinda messy and overgrown In the winter.

I'm glad that you are finally keeping things down:)

That medicine is really working! I can't wait until Thursday when you get to see the urologist...

I have my scan in the morning

You know I was thinking our body's remind me of an old classic car I used to have.. The minute you tried to make improvements to it everything else was thrown off..

That car was worn all down together humming along just fine (kind of) and bam you change something and then everything else starts breaking down!

So I will drag my old breaking down self in tomorrow and see what's wrong now! <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />[/quote']

    Hi,

I love it!! We are surely old cars then!! :) Only thing is we require less fuel!! haha.

Hopefully your scan will only lead to one thing and not a complete breakdown!! My word! We only need to keep running smoothly!!!

Tomorrow shall be great fun!! I can't wait!!! My hubby loves cooking, but he is a meat eater!! He cooks tons of great stuff that everyone but me like. Haha. I was a long standing vegetarian. Lately I have had turkey!!! Not sure i could do cows or pigs.

Hard work is always so rewarding!! Do you enjoy it? A good workout!!

It's amazing to keep food down. I can't wait for Thursday!! My hubby loves to travel for work. and hasn't in a long time. I agreed he could go if he wanted. So, hopefully I will have a good appointment with the urologist. I want to get all this out of the way so we can live our lives freely!!!!

Does your current health affect your daily functioning? Any plans this week?

    Best,

    Sannah

  10. How did you know it was leaking? Like what kind of signs n symptoms did you have??

I have explained this in great detail in this thread. I try to be very transparent and share as much as I can. I hope that it's helpful. :) if you have any questions I would be glad to answer them if you aren't able to find them on the thread. It's a lot to continually type out.

I hope your journey is nothing like mine!! Wishing you wellness,

    Sannah

  11. Hope all is well today Sannah.

    Laura

    Hi Laura,

How are you doing? Do anything for St. Patrick's Day? My hubby is cooking a big meal tomorrow and our friends are coming over. It should be fun.

Thank you so much for the kind thoughts. food is staying down!! :)

Darn kidney stones are awful!! The pain is coming and going again. Peeing out renal tissue in larger quantities!!! So disturbing!!!

I have been wondering if these stones are more than a result from the severe hydration I had from my leak, but also a result of this medicine I was given in the hospital. I was told I was only to have it right after surgery. I given this drugs for weeks in the hospital. At one point a nurse seemed very distraught that I was on it for so long and stopped it right away. At that point my kidney function was pretty low.

Can't wait to read my medical records and find out what happened!!!

I hope the test tomorrow is easy and productive.

    Best.

    Sannah

Great news! <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> it's so good to hear that the meds were able help with the spasms. And your losing weight?? Got to love it' date=' at the end of the day that's what brought us all here.

It sounds like you are on your way to better health, and when you go to the urologist on Thursday I hope to hear not hopeful news!

    Kisses to you and Venla,

    Laura[/quote']

Oh my goodness! It's so great!! To finally feel all this relief almost feels unreal!! I am sure things will only continue to get better. :)

I have made peace with worst case scenario for my kidneys. Riding it out at home, whenever it strikes. So if the urologist can't help, I am prepared. :) left kidney started acting up again last night. But I am manage SO much better since having relief in other areas.

I hope your day is great!!

    Hugs

  13. Another joyous occasion ladies!!
