OMG I can't watch! no way no how and no one can make me look!! LOL!!
  2. Thanks! I will talk to my dietician and see what she says, I go to a support seminar on Monday and I'm sure I'll get more information then also.
  3. You're doing great!!! It sounds like you'll be more than ready on surgery day
  4. I know I won't get my first fill for 6 weeks post-op. I keep thinking that I don't want to move on to "real" food before the fill, I don't know that I want to try to trust myself around food...and I also want to lose as much as possible on my own, is that crazy? In my mind, I can stay on Protein and mooshy stuff until then. Being totally new to this and 2 weeks pre-op, I need your wisdom and guidance

I went in for lab work this morning, I am SO not a morning person and I am SO not a needle in the arm person, so this morning? not so much fun for me. I'm a big baby about having blood drawn, I would rather have been in surgery this morning instead. The guy had no sense of humor, and he was not impressed with mine either...he's probably not a morning person. Surgery still seems so far away, and I feel like I have nothing to do until then, no Doctor visits, nothing. I do think I'm going to try to make a support group meeting next week, and that might make it more real to me, because right now 2 weeks seems like 2 years.
  6. Welcome! I'm pretty new and I the DFW area, my surgery is June 20th. Stay in touch, these boards are amazing!

In two weeks I will have my band. I have a list of things to do before, a list of things to take to the surgery center, but it just doesn't seem real at all yet, it hasn't hit me or something. I will hear from the nurse next Friday, other than that I am on my own...meaning I won't see the Doctor until I get prepped, and he's ready to play ball! I don't know how I feel, maybe I don't feel much of anything right now. I'm excited yes, but other than that I am kind of numb. I'm sure next week will be different...we'll see.
  8. My date with the band is the 20th:) and I'm a TR patient as well, good luck and keep updating.

My day is June 20th as well!
  10. Hubby is taking me to a Brazilian steak house, can y'all tell I love meat? LOL!
  11. LOL! that's most definitely a Texas girl meal. So, did you cook? or did you go out to eat?
  12. Thanks for updating us. Glad to know she's doing so well, and has a sweet hubby.
  13. Good to know I am a meat lover. Thanks!
  14. I had a similar thought today. I was in a clothing store and as I passed by the misses sizes, I had to stop and look at the clothes, I picked up a cute dress size 10 and it looked teeny tiny! I just stood there staring...even thinking of a size 14 is daunting. I'm looking forward to reading others input on this also.
  15. I will start my pre-op diet next week, so I'm thinking of what foods I want to have before then...I decided the biggie is steak, must have that at least once I will miss steak the most.
  16. I really like her, I hope she can do it this time, and I love how honest and real she was about the band.
  17. Debbi221: Good info about the straw, I hadn't thought of that. Andi525: How are you doing?

I think it's wise of you, and it will be the truth, there is no magic wand...we have to work at it. The weight loss will be obvious, but so will the positive lifestyle changes I'm looking forward to this journey. Good luck to you too!!

Dee, I agree, I can totally see certain people watching every bite and every sip...I'm keeping it to myself and a small group of family and very close friends.

The girls at work will notice the weight loss, and of course the change in my meals, my boss suggested I just say yeah I'm on a diet, exercising and getting healthy and leave it at that. That is what I will do. I'm with you, I don't need to hear anything negative, just support my decison and wish me well...it's not that hard to live and let live.
