I have not had any type of bowel movement since last weekend which was prior to Surgery on Monday. I had to do a bowel prep of magnesium citrate so was pretty much cleared out. Yesterday I did have my husband pick up some Milk of Magnesia to help get things moving - pretty sure it's the oxycodone that's making me a bit constipated. As for liquieds - my Dr says that 64oz of liquid is the ultimate goal but most people can't do that in the first couple of weeks so he told me to shoot for 32oz a day and to focus on the liquids first then on Protein which should be anywhere from 40 to 80g a day. Once I'm through the first two weeks then the focus moves to the 64oz a day plus the Protein.< /p>
It's normal to not have bowel movements, we are not eating as much I started taking benefiber per my doctors advise. I'm 5 weeks postop.

I keep wondering the same thing. I read some can only eat 1/5 of a cup of something where I can easily eat 1/2 cup of sweet potatoes! I have also tolerated everything I put on my mouth! I'm beginning to wonder if I was really sleeved <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
I was advised we can fit more food in our sleeve because our stomach is not swollen anymore and as time passes we can now eat more.

Sorry for such a late response' date=' I ended up falling asleep 20 minutes later. Can I take pills now? I wanted to try some melatonin but didn't know if I could take pills.[/quote']As far as I know we are only allowed to take pills if they are the size of a regular m&m if they are bigger we need to crush them.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I will start with little pieces of banana and watermelon.

I was sleeved on 5/4, after the 8th day I really felt better I was able to get up from bed with out a problem my energy keep increasing. Trust me the old habits are coming back try to pick on foods that are not in my diet. I have cheated acouple of times and trust me the experience is horrible from chest pain, vomit and also I have lost the good taste for it. Once I had the bad experience its like my brain does not crave it anymore. Hang in there we are still in the recovery mode.
