  1. I just read a post from my friend Don. I just wanted to let everyone know that I have seen him after his sleeve and I want to tell all the up coming July Sleevers that he looks great. He is back to work and doing good. We are both collegues working over seas here in Thailand, which I live here.

He is really doing well and the surgery was definitely a success. I am scheduled to have my surgery done on 2-July-10 and I have been really nervous about it, but after seeing Don and how good he is doing, I am ready to get this done. He has definitely been an inspiration to me. So all of us July Sleevers I hope our journey is as good as Don's and wish everyone all the best on their sleeves.

By the way, my highest weight was 295 lbs, now I have lost 12 lbs today. It is hard because I just didn't really know bad I was addicted to food. :confused1:

  2. I am scheduled to have my surgery on 2-July in Thailand. I have been living and working here for 12 yrs in July. I am 53 yrs old, 5' 11", and weight 295 lbs. I am looking forward to this, but also am starting to get nervous and thinking about it. I just had a friend that had the sleeve done on 3-June and he has been emailing me to let me know how things went. He said it was a cake walk, lol.

After I have the surgery, I will enjoy:

    - being able to buy things off the rack that look nice

    - improving my golf game due to lesser weight

    - keeping my health in line

    - just being able to do more things, which will make me enjoy them more.

I am at work at the moment, so I will try and keep up with the July sleevers. I work a month on and a month off. It won't be long before we come loser in a good way.

    Donnie

  3. Where are you having your surgery? I'm having mine in Mexicali with Dr. Aceves on July 1. If you're wondering about the size your sleeve will be, you can always ask the physician's office what size bougie they will be using for your sleeve. Then google "bougie" and you'll be able to find pictures that show you how big bougies are in relation to different sizes of writing pens, highlighters, and such.

I love this site, too. I haven't posted much until the last couple of days, but I really think you can get some good information from those who have had this done and are loving it. Good luck!!

I am having it done here in Thailand. I have been living in Thailand now for 12 yrs. A great place and have some great doctors here. I agree on the good information and good people on this site.

I thank everyone for the info on the sleeve size.

  4. Hello everyone. I am a newby and have scheduled myself to have the sleeve surgery on 2-July. I have been reading alot of post on here and I see that some or quite a bit of the people have had problems with heart burn, acid reflux, or indigestion after they have had the sleeve. I can honestly say I don't have these issue now and can eat what ever I want. Could some people be so kind to reply with the size of their sleeve and if they have had this acid reflux problems also. This is a concern for me, because reading the comments on this subject, it seems very unconfortable.

What size does everyone here, recommend?

By the way, I really think this sleeve talk.com is great and all the people here seem to be real supportive of each other. It is real comforting to find a place like this.
