fanofdmb reacted to VACookey in March And April Sleevers How Are You Doing? What Are You Really Eating? (Confessions)I was sleeved March 7th. I'm down about 74 pounds. I'm eating pretty well, although I had two bites of macaroni and cheese with my catfish and green Beans for dinner tonight. I'm still eating a scrambled egg with veggies and cheese OR Weight Control banana bread oatmeal for Breakfast. Something like tuna fish with splenda sweetened relish, tomatoes, and olive oil mayo for lunch, and usually something grilled for dinner. chicken or steak medium rare. I can't leave leftovers because reheating it the next day makes it too tough, so I either make a little for myself or enough to give the rest to someone else. And I'm working out 4 times a week, weights and cardio.
I feel fantastic, everything's working right, and I couldn't be happier!

fanofdmb reacted to Bubbaloo10 in LortabLortab may taste nasty, but not as nasty as the dye they make you drink for the leak test. The good thing about Lortab is that when you have stomach pain post surgery, it goes straight to the source of the pain and you are feeling good again almost instantly. If you have to, down the Lortab, then wash it down with something more palatable. Good luck......

fanofdmb got a reaction from Kat Crowder in March And April Sleevers How Are You Doing? What Are You Really Eating? (Confessions)today we had a BBQ to celebrate my son's bday. we usually put on a big spread and this year was not exception. i ate little bit of this and that. my dad cooks a mean tri-tip, which has always been my favorite. i took a tiny bite and found that it was only ok, so i took another bite, chewed it up and had to spit it out. it made me fill sick!! i stayed away from the cake while we passed it out. when i cleaned the kitchen, i had a very small bite of the corner of the cake. now i am sick and can't get the sweet taste out of my mouth! it is such a change, my taste buds are not agreeing with the foods that i liked before. i know that i am not eating as much and that i am more than likely not eating enough calories, but i still have that mindset that if i eat more, i will not lose weight. since i have been on a plateau for just over two weeks (26# in just over 6 weeks), i guess that mindset is not correct. i have made the resolution in my mind to increase my caloric intake and to definately increase my protein. i also must continue with my exercise. this past week was rough and i didnt get in what i should have.
anyway... now that i am done rambling i would like to wish everyone a happy memorial weekend! BE SAFE!!!

fanofdmb reacted to rodswife in March And April Sleevers How Are You Doing? What Are You Really Eating? (Confessions)I was sleeves April 2 and I am down 28lbs. I get in all my protein and liquids. I eat chicken, fish, eggs, tuna and cheese. I go to the gym for an hour 5 days a week and I do not eat anything that is not on the doctors plan. I feel I'm losing weight way too slowly but it is coming off.

fanofdmb reacted to Lissa in Top 3 Tips For Success1. Start exercising now. It doesn't have to be training for a marathon, but start walking and lifting small weights as soon as you can. You're building the habit into your daily routine, not training for that marathon.
2. Sip, sip, sip. Drinking Water is key, IMO, to losing the weight. Water hydrates your body and skin, fills up your tummy, and washes out the toxins and fat.
3. Get your Protein into your body every single day.
4. Forget dieting. This isn't a diet. It's a way of life. Get in the protein and your veggies, THEN worry about carbs.
5. There are NO good or bad foods. It's either protein or it's not. If I could find a chocolate that had protein in it, I'd do it. Oh, wait, I do... Protein Bars.
6. Eat on a schedule. This is important because we aren't hungry for the first few months. Forgetting to eat is worse, FOR ME, than over eating.
7. Avoid Cheetos!

fanofdmb reacted to Ms skinniness in Top 3 Tips For SuccessYep! Lissa has said it all. Make sure you drink a lot of fluids.
Focus on Proteins first, then veggies, and little starch.
Walk, walk, walk, and sip, sip, sip.
Exercise now to get prepared by developing healthy habits.
Enjoy the ride, it is a roller coaster! All good!

fanofdmb reacted to VJSlim in Top 3 Tips For SuccessLissa has pretty much covered everything. Here's mine: Find yourself a good support system. Someone who will push you when you really dont feel like exercising or walking etc.
I and a friend (who is also my collegue) have an open bet - we have agreed to compare our daily walking. As I'm a bit competitive, this drives me to walk everyday. My treadmill has never seen so much action in years! LOL
AND - post here often. This forum has done wonders for me! People here keep you motivated!
