  1. You are not alone! I hit a still at 4 weeks FOR 2 weeks. It is frustrating but your body will continue to lose! Hang in there. Stalls are perfectly normal. Butterthebean (very experienced member on here) has a link in his signature which really helped me through the first few stalls. Let me pass it on to you! http://www.dsfacts.com/weight-loss-stall-or-plateau.html
  2. I have heard on here numerous times that Milk of Magnesia (MOM) is a sure thing. Sounds like Myralax is very similar. I understand your frustration that is for sure! I am 3 1/2 months out and still have to take a magnesium supplement to ensure regular movement. But I feel lucky- that's the only issue I have encountered from surgery. Good Luck!!!!
  3. I would love to go to a support group but I am in the middle of no where. This site has pretty much taken care of a support group. And I have to say- its been the best support group I ever could have wanted.
  4. I thought that too! He didn't make my stomach small enough. OMG- back to yo yoing. And its kind of weird some days I can't hardly eat anything while other days I feel like I can eat a lot. Of course its not even close, or in the same ball park as to what I used to be able to eat. Thank God! LOL
  5. I waited till my steri-strips fell off from surgery. Then I started using Mederma on my scars and lotion. Hope this helps!
  6. hmmm. sounds worth checking out. I don't have a Krogers but I think King Soopers carries that brand. Thanks for the info!
  7. Sounds interesting. Where can you buy it? And have you tried it yet?
  8. It will soooooo get better! I experienced the same! You are still really swollen and therefore everything that goes in feels crazy- claustrophobic. Hang in there. My stomach was really swollen for the first two weeks (sometimes up to a month) and just sips were a challenge. The stages your doctor gave you are for a really good reason and sometimes you have to go back to liquids if your body isn't ready- again very normal. Hang in there. You will feel better. Especially when you look at the scale and its going down- that was my motivation.
  9. You look beautiful! Wine color is your color! Hope you had a wonderful time at the ball too!
  10. I am a Colorado Native and actually still living in Colorado just west of Boulder. All the best to you and for a quick recovery!!!
  11. I have always enjoyed your posts and advice given to others. You are one wise grammy!!! You have lost 100 pounds- amazing! You are an inspiration to me! I really hope you always check in periodically and check on us now that you have reached your goal. I have a good feeling you will. All the best to you! I think this is the best gift we can give to ourselves and right in time for Christmas!!! I commend you!
  12. Have you tried something crazy? I know, might sound weird but maybe its time to really shock the system. Like for example, adding significant time to work outs, or just eating protein without any carbs, or eating way less calories- just for a week. Or something else you can think of. Maybe your body is in a rut cuz it is used to the normal grind. I think the answer might be easier than you think. I wish you all the best.
  13. 20 pounds is really amazing! I am averaging 10 pounds a month which is great too but I can totally relate to the belly!!! Finally there aren't two belly's just one lower with loose skin- erggg. But I always enjoy your posts. You have broken some serious ground!!! You are pretty much at your goal! Congrats.
  14. Mine was done in Mexico and I felt perfectly confident.
  15. LMAO! Too funny the posts here. I've been with shaven and well....not. I like a well manicured lawn but it doesn't have to be shaven. I don't like looking like I haven't hit puberty so a little hair is nice- with both sexes.
  16. Hang in there! It sounds like you have hit the typical plateau that even I hit at 4 weeks. I think you are doing great and doing everything right. Trust me- it is going to happen. I even thought at week 4 and 5 that I made a mistake because I just seemed to stop losing weight after dropping regularly. You will see the scale move soon. Promise!
  17. My surgery was around 10k including flights and accommodations I also was required to submit a 1,000 pre-payment to secure my date for surgery. I didn't encounter any problems with the financial side. And the doctor also gave me documentation because I guess I can write it off of my taxes which is nice!
  18. Yes! Hang in there! Soon enough you will be able to eat almost anything!
  19. I love oatmeal but didn't start it till I was cleared for regular food. As soon as I was cleared I have been eating every morning Maybe you can start it earlier if you mush it up, I never tried that. hmmm.
  20. I was told not to try anything with tomato (for at least two months) because of the acidity. So I waited a month and tried a v8 and had trouble and really haven't tried since. It was so uncomfortable. I have however had pizza with tomato sauce and tomato sauce with spaghetti without too much trouble. Hope that helps. Just keep the anti-acids close when you do try.
  21. You look great! Thanks for posting!!!! I love these posts because they always come at a time when I need the motivation! Amazing job! Keep it up!
  22. You are welcome. Hope you feel better soon! Sounds like the vicodin could be a culprit. I only got ibuprofen for the pain.
  23. Hopefully I am not the norm but my BM's have never been the same since surgery. I am 3 and a half months out and still have problems with constipation. I take a magnesium supplement to counter act. But I have heard on here it takes about two weeks to get regular. It was hard for me not to stress but the doctor told me it could be up to two weeks before I have a BM. All the best to you with your recovery.
  24. So happy to hear that you are feeling better and things are moving!!!! That is great. I hope it doesn't get that bad again and at least you know you can use MOM just in case!
