Well, I was told today by the doctors office that unless I was WW active within the past 18 months, it wouldn't make a difference SOOOO, 5 months to go until insurance approval. Looking for anyone who may have the same surgery timeframe as myself..December 2013??? Thanks to all!!!

<p>I have BCBS of MI PPO, have to do the 6 month NUT visits, the Psych visit also. Did WW awhile ago however lost my info so I sent them an email hoping they can send me verification (not sure if this happens if it will speed up the process?), but looking forward to the new ME!!</p> <p>Hoping that the insurance doesn't give me any troubles? BMI= 40.6</p>

Vixey, I'm in the same boat as you are, so looks like we will be on this journey together!! I'm looking at this as MY Christmas present to myself..a better me, a better life!! We can do this! What state are you from?

Thanks Kelley for the note..I unfortunately do not have the funds to self-pay (unless of course I win the lottery in the near future , so will have to stick with whatever I can to make this happen...hoping that WW responds to my email to perhaps speed things up but not holding m breathe on that. Hopeing your recovery is going well. Congratulations!!

So the 6 months that you did with your PCP do you think that would be equivalent to my 6 months with NUT that I am seeing at the Bariatric Center? I did contact WW via email to see if they can send me a record of my time spent with them however not sure they will respond? I do appreicate your help. Is your BCBS of MI a PPO? Hope all is going well for you?

I just read this thread and contacted WW for any records they have on me hoping this will speed up my process (BCBS of MI)...I of course lost my record that you get to keep...CRAP! I hope they respond??? Thinking positively!

Thank you SOOO much for the quick response. I am hoping this is the case really I do. I guess if I supplied WW proof, or precription weight-loss meds it would be sooner? Are you familiar with this? My BMI is just over 40 and I really want this done!!

I have to do the 6 month NUT thing as well but an hoping/praying that after that the insurance company will not make more requirements...trying to stay positive but that is what I fear the most.

I am in the early stages of this and did the seminar, met with Nut for the first of 6 monthly visits but fear that the insurance company will make me jump through more hoops? Greetings to all! I am new to this and find this MOST helful and supportive. Thanks to all! I have not had my surgery yet, in the early stages however have many questions I am hoping someone can answer. Went to seminar, met with Nut for the first time this past Friday (having SX in Toledo hopefully?). I have BCBS of Mi and apparently I have to meet with Nut for 6 monhs? Is this normal? I have not contacted them however this is what they told me at clinic. My fear is that after 6 months the insurance company will say no..MY BIGGST FEAR! Any insight on what to expect during this process and how long does it take after 6 months with Nut before surgery?

Thank you to all for your support and words of wisdom regarding the sleeve procedure. I have given this a great deal of thought and would be lying if I said I wasn't scared to death! What should I expect after surgery?
