Are You Happy That You Had The Sleeve Procedure?
onedaycloser replied to love to be at goal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did nothing different down to the last minute. I had roast beef dinner with mashed potatoes and veggies. Stopped eating around 7pm than didn't have fluids after midnight. I was rolled into OR at 10:30 the next day. Just eat what you want it really didn't make a difference to me anyway. -
Are You Happy That You Had The Sleeve Procedure?
onedaycloser replied to love to be at goal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 8 days post-op. I am down 15 pounds ( no pre-op diet for me ), would I do it again? Yes I would, without hesitation. Even though I'm in the early stages of this journey I know this was the best decision for me. Is the post-op diet a struggle? Yes it is but it won't always be and that's what keeps me focused. This is all about change and being prepared to go with the flow will make it easier I believe-remember: this is a marathon not a sprint! -

Sleeping On Your Side Again?!
onedaycloser replied to a_gray_'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am post-op 8 days and just last evening was I able to "tolerate" a little side sleeping...recliner helps but then you get a little neck pain...soon I'm hoping it gets better. There is one incision in particular that seems a little more sore than the others. Getting tired of full-liquid diet however:( -

Protein Powder Blues
onedaycloser replied to MouseOnTheMile's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use Unjury vanilla and add some PB2 (found in Walmart) to add some flavor, really good. I know you can add some SF jello pudding powder like cookies & cream along with some ice and enjoy a thick shake. Check out the recipe sections for additional options. I hope this helps as we all know how important getting the protein is. -
Surgery Was On December 03, 2013...
onedaycloser replied to linda305's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great to hear this! I ran into a guy who had the surgery the same day however with a different surgeon. He was struggling with pain management (he was a bypass) but it was nice to share experiences. My 1st post-op day wasn't pleasant but I'm feeling great post-op day 3! Looking forward to having something other than shakes! Tomorrow I'm pulling out the instant oatmeal!! Keep pushing on sleevers! -
Post Op Day 2
onedaycloser replied to onedaycloser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had horrific headaches in the hospital (day 1 post-op) and I believe it was from the morphine because when they switched me to the liquid Vicodin it went away but boy was it awful! Not to mention you can't relax or sleep or get comfortable. Hope your headaches go away soon! -

Yes the gas gets better each day..I did take Gas X Strips and did one yesterday. Just had 1oz SF pudding, man was that good! No pain going down...thank GOD! Sipping room temperature water in between...not seeing how I'm going to get in 64oz of water but I'm going to try! Popsicles are good too! No complications with my surgery but he did fix a hiatal hernia as well. Keep up the good work ladies, we got this! -
