  1. I am on day three and looking forward to having a protein shake today:) First two days were filled with Vitamin Water Zero and Won-Ton soup broth. Oh, and I did get down a sugar free popsicle. Tummy is grumbling, but I think they gas has a lt to do with it. When I eat/drink even a little bit, I feel stuffed so I stop. Honestly just ready for my stomach to not be so sore. I am sleeping good at all and only feel good when I am sitting up with pillows behind my back in our living room chair. Hoping every day gets a little easier......
  2. So today I have gotten down half a bottle of Water, 3/4 bottle of Vitamin Water Zero, and about a cup of WonTon Soup minus the won tons:) I have read so many posts where people are not hungry at all right after getting banded. So why is my stomach growling?? Tomorrow I am able to start on Protein shakes and some applesauce if tolerated. Maybe that will help..... Just wondered if anyone else had tummy growls right after being banded?
  3. Not sure if there is already a post out there with this information or not?? Tomorrow is day 3 post op and I am able to start drinking some protein shakes. While the ready to drink are convienient, I do not always think they taste so good. Any one have some good recipes to make at home?
  4. Right smack in the middle of June (June 15th), so I thought maybe I could hang with the late June Bandsters. I started my pre-op diet on Monday, and like you, almost wish I was on protein shakes. I feel like I eat the same thing every.day. Ugh. But, I guess I shouldn't complain. Went to my pre-op appointment with my surgeon yesterday, and really liked him and his staff. Very comforting. I am getting excited to begin this new journey. I have told a few people, mostly family and a few close friends. Everyone is so excited for me to work hard and get back to the healthy girl I once was:)

  6. Jean laid it all out good:) Just had mine last Wednesday and it was a breeze. Took a nice "nap" and woke up fine with no sore throat. Had the hubster drive me home and I was starving by the time we were finished. Nothing to eat or drink after midnight, and I did not get out of there til 3 something. You will do great!!
  7. Hey everyone- So today is day one of my pre-op diet. The surgeon wants me on a strict South Beach phase 1 diet. So far I have had a 5 calorie Jello and some Water. I am not a good Breakfast eater, but I have some eggs boiling right now. Anyone ever had to follow this diet? If so, have any suggestions on some meal ideas? I do not want to eat tuna and chicken for every.single.meal! Thanks!!
  8. I start pre-op diet on Monday. I plan to have a few treats this weekend. Some good Mexican food at Blue Goose, my favorite chicken salad sandwich at Jason's Deli, and probably some Pei Wei. Probably all of them with a nice, big soda. R.I.P Dr. Pepper! hahaha!
  9. End of July, so a little over a month after. I have not gotten my post op diet yet, so I am not sure?
  10. Hi there:) I am scheduled to be banded on June 15th. I have a short road trip to Austin with the PTA board from my kiddos' school. Any advice on things I should take? Also, I am sure there will be some eating out, any advice on how to handle that? Anything I should avoid? Trying to keep things discrete and not make a big deal out of meals. I do not know a lot of these women that well. Thanks in advance for your advice;)
  11. My name is Megan and I am so glad I found this site while researching the LapBand procedure! Just got home from my first consultation. I have to complete an EGD test on May 30th, and my surgery is scheduled for June 15th. Very nervous, but VERY excited. I look forward to learning more and getting advice from those who have traveled this road!!!
