cmoody821 replied to Lacey8724's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor will put 2-3 ccs in the band during surgery but i dont think all doctors do. -
Do you mean the percentage? It's 20 % with the Mac out of pocket of 1500.
-
No, my out of pocket is 1500. They deducted something, don't remember what, since I had to pay so much on my deductable. Not sure what you mean as far as coinsurance.....
-
That's what I do. When someone cooks lunch on the weekends, I consider it automatic nap time.

How were your incisions closed? My doctor uses glue and told me we can swim, bathe, whatever after 5 days. -
Maybe try subing a meal or two with a protein shake... it really has helped me drop weight quick. I lost 4 lbs in 5 days.

cmoody821 replied to hopingtobebandedsoon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good thing it is only a week. Mine is two weeks but I started 2 weeks early with 1 shake a day and have progressed to my required 2 shakes a day. I think it helped since I had a few slip ups in the beginning but it has slowly started getting easier now. -

I'm June 27! Had my preop appointment today and started my liquid diet two weeks early. It was tough the first couple days, I find the weekend the most challenging. -
Maybe seeing a nutritionist would help get a better understanding of the foods you should eat.
-
hmd, I sure hope that is the case! I am one of those people who is extremely impatient. I feel like that is all I think about at work.... when is my claim going to be approved? What is they deny me?
-
I have BCBS Anthem... They submitted yesterday and my surgery is scheduled for June 27. Im kinda in the same boat!
-
My pre-op appointment is tomorrow afternoon. Could anyone tell me what to expect? Is this a one-on-one with the Doc or a group appointment? What is discussed?
-
I can't eeally give you much advice for post-op since I am still pre-op, but I started my liver diet two weeks early. I have been drinking two protein shakes a day and a lean cuisine for dinner. I think this has helped me prepare for what is to come. I have managed to lose 4 lbs in 3 day.s I am going to try and stick it out until my first fill.
-
My doctor put me on two protien shakes a day and small meal for dinner. I.E. Grilled Chicken or Fish and veggies
-
The week before I started my 2 week "liver shrinking" diet I started replacing lunch with a protein shake. I feel that it has really helped me prepare for going to full liquids next week.

I have GERD and a hiatal hernia and was going to my GI for quite some time. They ended up sending me to an ENT and turned out somehome the chronic reflux caused my tonsils to be infected and they were triple the size. They were removed last year. It was a weird feeling like there was a lump in my throat that I couldnt clear.
