    What Should I Do?

I second Daisychains' post... I would also add to ask lots of questions, research as much as you can, and check out a support group. Once your scheduled, find someone who's scheduled around the same day as you are and buddy up! I met a girl, same surgeon, who ended up being scheduled and hour and a half before me and we texted about all our aches and pains and questions and it was great. My Hubbie is super supportive and helpful, but someone going through it the same time as you makes all the difference in the world! Good luck to you!!

    Stupid Question?????

I think it's because the liquid will push the food through and you want it to stay there for a while for it to digest slowly and so your brain can better tell that you're full and will stay fuller longer.

    New Here

Great post, really hit home! My Mom and the rest of my family are a big reason I'm doing this too. My mom is a few inches shorter than I am and was up to over 350. Diet shakes and sodas have always flowed freely through our house. I always keep saying I didn't want to follow in her footsteps, but looking back, I was tripping all over them! Morbidly obese, yo-yo dieting, high blood pressure (almost needing meds!), high cholesterol, sleep apnea and the list goes on (and on!) But this, this is where it stops! Time to break the cycle! I am 5 weeks out from my lapband surgery and and have already lost 25 pounds since I started the process mid-February. It has been a LONG time since I have felt this good about myself! And you can do this too! Let us know if you ever have any questions or concerns that we can help you with!

    Port Discomfort...

Hi! I am about 5 weeks out from my lapband surgery and am still having discomfort around the port area. I think I've healed pretty well on the outside, but for some reason I can't roll to the left side while in bed and sometimes I can feel it when I stand after sitting for too long. Is anyone else having this trouble? Or if you had surgery a while ago, do you remember about how long it lasted? I have not had my first fill yet, scheduled for 5/29. Thanks!!

    Protein Shakes

I love Now Foods proteins powders! http://www.nowfoods.com/Sports/Products/ProteinPowders/085085.htm They taste great with water or skim milk. Covers my cravings for sweets too! Cookies and Cream is my favorite. I have one every morning for breakfast.

Lapband And Pcos In Other Countries!

I was banded on 4/12/12, and I've lost 24 pounds since I started the process in February. I hope you're right! One of the girls in the surgeon's office did say that quite a few have gotten pregnant after losing some weight from the surgery. My husband and I have been trying for four years. As far as fertility treatments, they want me to go straight to injections. My insulin tested fine, so I didn't qualify for Metformin. I wanted to lose some weight before doing the injections. Besides PCOS, I have high cholesterol, diagnosed with sleep apnea in 07, and my doctor has been wanting to start me on high blood pressure meds. I too would love to hear about pregnancy success after surgery!

    PCOS.. Who's got it?

I have PCOS too. I have had many of the symptoms for years, but was recently diagnosed. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for four years. Had my insulin tested but was normal. Hoping the band will help me loose enough weight to get pregnant, I'm already 35 years old. Was banded 4/12/12 and have lost 24 pounds since I started the process in February.
