  1. Just to compare to what others follow, my diet is Pre-op:None Week 1&2: liquids Only Weeks 3&4: Purees 1 Month and over: soft foods and progression into soilds
  2. My doc dosen't require a pre-op diet but I am going to do a voluntary one for a week. I'm starting on the 26th-all liquids.
  3. FYi-vitamin shoppe is having a sale on protein till june 17th. I'm going to be buying me some muscle milk for my pre-op; $20 for a 2-3lb jug. I also bought a tub of nectar.
  4. Is this book my doctor gave me it has this test and it says if u depise cottage cheese to use thick oatmeal
  5. well never mind I do have 12 months of visits... so I quess my question now would be what all was done at your appointments and how long post op did you have these kind of appointments? (6 months, 1 year, etc.)
  6. Right after surgery when making your shakes, do you have to use water or can you use milk? Skim milk atleast? Btw the way I have tried the lean shakes from GNC and i like the taste, however I have the powder form and there is only 9g of protein in them. I guess I could add some unflavored protein and a little more liquid to it.
  7. Amazing nsv!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!
  8. Well i can now say that it took me a month and half. I went in for my seminar on May 22 and surgery is July 3!
  9. Whew crisis aborted! I waited over an hour, which did feel like 40!, but had to leave to make another appt! I called when I got out and still no papers! I was calm yet freaking but finally at 3 (3 1/2 hours later) they got the papers and instantly put me in the system! Of course I had ate by then, so I go in tomm morining for my tests:)
  10. At hospital to get my pre testing done n I am NOT IN THE SYSTEM!!!!!! What the heck????? Can't pay for surgery, can't do labs, nothing! Thy called the drs. 11. Sorry I can't spell! Anway, was it the day of?
  12. Wow this happened to me! I literally got an evil stare from someone like "why are you in here" Then later in the bathroom a lady told me, "you don't want to get this, you need to just lay off the french fries" I think she was trying to come from a sweet place, she was an older and bigger lady who was overweight from having a lot of medical problems and she herself was scared of dying during surgery:( She had a back problem so it was hard for her to work out but she really needed to lose weight. After I realized where she was coming from we just laughed about it together. Sometimes people can be judgemental-but you don't know where they are coming from or what they are actually trying to say. (Thats why I keep my mouth shut lol) But all in all thats why you really have to make the decision for yourself, most of time when people give advice on situations and they think of themselves and what they would do instead of putting their self in the other persons shoes. I know I am healthy, besides being OBESE, almost morbidly obese and I know that this is the ONLY way I am going to be able to lose weight and KEEP it off. I'm not going to wait until I develop more problems to do something about it! Do what is best for you and what is going to make you happy! Don't listen to the side comments as they will probably change later anyway.
  13. Who has a surgery date of July 3rd? Where are all my sleeve brothers and sisters? Lets keep in touch with each and share our journeys!
  14. Are you sure Dr. T taught Dr. C? I thought Dr. C was the first to do it in our area, here is an article I read about it. http://weblogs.daily...performs_t.html According to this article he was the first to perform the surgery in Hampton Roads. Also Dr. C charges 14,000 for all pre-ops and a year of checkups, o and a year of the group classes and 3 personal training sessions, if you want the gym access its 29 a month. Dr. T charges over 16K and dosent included any checkups or pre-ops and when I went to the seminar last year it was just his assistant and he basically said "we just started doing vsg but hey if we can do bi-pass we can do vsg", it really put me off... But I will say I know people who have went to him and had good results. O and with dr. C i did not have to put any money down so I do not know what that is for.
  15. JULY 3RD BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. I meant to say with my insurance. (I have BCBSofAL)
  17. I am not going through my insurance but I know that if you have a comorbidity, which would be your sleep apena, you can go down to a 35 bmi. You would just have to check with your insurance.
