  1. Thanks guys:) & thank you butterthebean, I should really remember/know this because I gave pcos! Sometimes I forget since I haven't had any symptoms since my surgery:) but I know what you said is very true!
  2. I am trying to lose 8-12 pounds a month. Try to be positive on the fact that if you lose slow that you probably will have less saggy skin and either way you are getting healthy. If I get to my goal within a year I'll be happy. Being a low bmi I wouldn't want to lose 20 to 30 a month because I'm sure n the end I'll look like a flying squirrel
  3. This is so true. My friend thought she was going to lose more because she was dieting/starving n exerciseing ALOT and she wasn't losing, then she starting eating more calories because of the exercise n the fat starting melting off. You have to find that balance.
  4. I'm going to have to try these torani syrups everyone keeps talking about
  5. Well I told myself I'd put an update every 20 pounds, which will happen 5 times hopefully so here is number one:) I have lost 20 pounds in a little over a month!!!! WOW WOW WOW! I know that weightloss is going to slow down but im cool with that. My goal is to lose about 12 a month, I think that is reasonable. Surgery was offically 5 1/2 weeks out and it feels like it has been way longer than that. I am down from an 18 to a 16, i am on full foods no problem and I am trying to walk everyday. I really need to start weight training because I do not want saggy arms and i have a feeling I am going to. I know my stomach and boobs are going to sag because they all ready do now...but I can cover that up-but my arms ugh I don't want to keep the bat wings:( Well see how it goes tho! My next goal is only 9 pounds away because that is ONEderland!! Woot woot! I have realized that carbs and the true ENEMY for me! I am only supposed to have 50 carbs MAX a day and one day I ate grits almost all day and realized I had consumed 122g of carbs in one day! Needless to say the next day i had GAINED one pound so word to the wise, don't forget to look at your labels, seriously! Thats my advice for the week:P Hope everyone is doing well!
  6. My doctors office has sells a hot coco made my bariwise, it has 15g of protein and is pretty good! As far as adding fiber the only fiber I know that gels up is citracel <BARF>, my grandma uses that stuff and likes it:P you can buy benefiber and it dissolves all the way. It is complety tasteless and you can put it in food, drink whatever. Walgreens also has their own brand but I can taste theirs.
  7. I had a stall too in week 3 and then week 4 i only lost one pound
  8. I am about 5 weeks post op and have lost 20#. Starting bmi was 39.
  9. Congrats on your surgery! As far as apps go I use My Fitness pal. I really like it and if you have anything that scans you can scan the barcode for easy input. You can also track your exercise and Water intake on there too. As far as calories at 7 days I didn't keep track of calories, the most importance was shooting for 64 ounces of water(staying hydrated) and trying to get my Protein in. I was on a full liquid diet at the start for two weeks. Now that I am on foods my doctors main concern is still not calories, he would rather us just count protein and water. So still the 64 ounces of water and 80-100 grams of protein. We can also count carbs, in which he dosen't want us going over 50 a day. As fars as hard candy, I don't see why you couldn't as long as you don't accidently swallow it! Anyways, congrats again and well wishes:)
  10. I was obsessing over Chobani yogurt UNTIL my nut made me read the label more carefully. I was just looking at protein but it has 22 carbs!
  11. I can have grits and oatmeal, we do really vary:P
  12. If you have it, post your SN and make some new friends:) mine is smallcals add me plz!
  13. Welcome! You will love this forum, there are some amazing ppl on here!
  14. I honestly think it depends on the person. I was on a liquid diet for 2 weeks after surgery and i would get hungry. People would tell me its probly just stomach acid but no I was hungry; my stomach was growling, I would get the shakes and everything. If I drunk all the protein shakes i was supposed to I wouldn't get hungry but I was just so sick of the shakes. I didn't start feeling the restriction and fullness until I moved to the puree stage, then that's when I knew that there was a change. Now I really do have to remind myself to eat or I won't get my protein in. I am now about a month out.
  15. I was picking up laundry on the floor yesterday n felt like I pulled something on my right side n luckily today was my 2 week check up n he told me that I had a stitch in the muscle right there n that is what is causing the pain. Its not a constant pain its just occasional.
  16. I have a tub of kiwi strawberry and it is beyond nasty to me. I wasted 32$.
  17. I am day 10 post op and I am hungry, tummy growling and all! We went on a two mile walk n by the time we got home I was so hungry. I drank a 8 ounce shake before we left. I ate a 4 ounce pudding cup in like 10 mins which is supposed to take me 30 and I drank some water too. I do not want to drink another protein shake- I have to force them because I am so sick of them, Bleh! Thank God on Tuesday I can have purees! Anywho I don't understand why my little pouch isn't filling up n making me feel full? I am still hungry!
  18. I never thanked everyone for their answes so THANK YOU! And yes I do indeed need a new dentist, they almost kept me from getting my surgery by telling me I had infection that I didn't have!
  19. thanks for the well wishes! I am feeling so much better now! My dumb computer wouldn't let me reply back to this post! I wish i could take a bath but I still have my steri-strips so bath time next week i think. My headaches are still come and go but not as bad, my OTHER problem has went from a grape to a pea so I am soooooooooo very thankful for that! Hope you guys are doing well!
  20. hope everythingwent perfect for u!!
  21. I was exactly like you and if your anything like me, even though everyone says it'll be okay, it still doesn't help and you still be nervous. I was sooooooo extremely nervous but I just prayed and prayed and everything came out amazing. All that worrying and stressing myself out for nothing. There is no reason to get yourself that upset really! I am doing so good right now and im 1 week post op-I've been doing good the whole time-my biggest pain is something thats not even surgery related. Everything is going to be okay! you may be in a little pain and you have meds for that and everything will get better every day
  22. Same with me no pre op diet except liquids the day before
  23. everything went great! Let me know how yours went! Hope ur feeling OK!
