Yes...my urine smells funny and it's kind of bright yellow. Not sure if the color is from Popsicles?

Yeah, I took Prevacid today but I am not sure I could tell a difference. I had problems keeping anything down before today so I was apprehensive and didn't take it until mid day.

My surgery was on Tuesday and I completely understand. I was miserable and am not much better then that today (today is my first day without vomiting) I have noticed that for me the only thing I could keep down without terrible heartburn/acid reflux is Popsicles. They also hydrate a bit so that makes you feel better. But above all SLEEP! Make sure you get up every hour or two and walk around your house to prevent blood clots in your legs from forming but I guarantee you the rest/sleep is the best thing for you.

Will this terrible acid reflux/ heart burn go away??!? I inky had it this bad when I was pregnant.

Since I wrote in here yes today about how miserable I was I should say today I feel quite a bit better. The foamies seem to have subsided and that helped a lot with lessening the nausea. I haven't been great about taking the meds because anytime I swallow I have that burning in my chest. I am able to do Popsicles without any problems and usually feel better after I have one... So that is my main fluid intake as of now. Sleep is the best medecine. I have been sleeping on and off since I got home on Wednesday. I sleep for about an hour at a time maybe two on occasion and then I walk around my house for 10-20 minutes, have a Popsicle and lay back down. Occasionally trying to take in a vitamin or med. Hope everyone else is feeling better today too. PS: any tips for the first shower?? I put it off a day because of how I felt yesterday and now I'm nervous about having to take the dressings off...ick.

Hey sleevers, (some TMI) My surgery was the 28th (Tuesday) and I have been so miserable. All I want to do is sleep... I force myself up to walk around the room every hour or two and take deep breaths, half the time using the spirometer. seems like everything makes me throw up even though I am on zofran, I started using the subpositories and it works better... Just had a Popsicle, it was so nice to have a non-nasty taste in my mouth for once and know I'm getting some liquids at the same time. I do have problems with taking all of my meds and vitamins without throwing them back up.. I still have "foam" in my mouth and when I throw up, it's just more foam. Anyway, I just wanted to see if it is a normal thing for us to feel so miserable the first few days or weeks? Thank you! Ps: if this didn't all make sense i blame the drugs!

My surgery was Tuesday. Just wondering if any of you who are already sleeved had a "foamy" mouth and throat after?? I don't know wht it means but my PA said it happens. I want to know when it'll go away because itoften caus more nausea for me. I also have such a swollen sleeve that if I have more then one tiiiiiny sip of water my chest/asophagus burns. so I'm having a hard time taking anything in. Also anything besides water (and even water t times) is making me sick. Even while on zofran. I also keep getting a light fever... Which is apparently normal but it just is another thing to add to the list...

My surgery is Tuesday morning and I keep telling my husband how to care for our son if I die, how much I love him and I'm sorry if I die... It was freaking him out a bit. I don't think it's likely to happen, but need to be prepared for the worst. My doctor said that the people he has lost during surgery were people that knew it was likely.... Very high risks factors, etc.

Did you all diet prior to the liquid diet? Was it strict? I was supposed to be on a diet... I lost about 13 lbs since april and then this week knowing its the last days before my liquid diet has made me feel like I have to have some of my favorite foods as a goodbye.... I'm now worrying that maybe it will be a bad thing that I did? My liquid diet starts tomorrow and surgery date is 28th. This week I had fast food for two meals and a restaurant one night. Hopefully it doesn't have an effect on my liver (I had fatty liver) Just seeing what everyone else had to do... Thanks.

These are some questions I have... I am a stay at home mom so I am mainly winking when I can get back to daily life taking care of my 4 year old. Thank you in advance for any answers you provide!! How many days of liquid diet did you have to do? How much weight did you lose during it? How many days (if any) did you have to stay at the hospital? Did you have any complications? How long after surgery did you try to eat normal food? (non-puréed, etc) How soon after surgery did you feel mostly or fully back to normal? Please share any extra comments about things you weren't expecting or tips:

Does anyone know how soon after surgery you can drink coffee?! I am a diet sodaholic but am planning to switch to coffee when it is okay to drink....boy is it hard to function without caffeine! So glad that those of you who had surgery seem to be doing well!!

**Did you all have a pre-liquid diet diet? **if so, did you follow it really well? I have struggled off and on with my diet and am starting my liquid diet soon (mine will be ten days)... Have lost 13 lbs since April though so that isn't too bad

When was your surgery date? It's good to hear your having a good experience!

I think you wouldn't be human if you didn't have mixed emotions about this from time to time. I know I get scared...mostly that I could die during surgery but I think everyone has their fears especially the closer it gets to time. Even if you eat foods you shouldn't your stomach will only be able to hold like 3 oz. so I don't think it is likely you'll fail. Good luck!!

I would tell him, just so he has a heads up. All that matters is that your healthy for surgery, not that he may shae a finger at you. I did ask my doctor what would happen if I ate something during the liquid phase and he said it shouldn't matter since the main point is to lose as much belly fat as you can in that phase... Of course they don't want us to eat though. Does your office have a coordinator that you email with? If so you could tell them... Maybe a little less intimidating than in front of the doc face to face.

Good job JLOR! For the liquid diet did anything help you keep your mind off being hungry and grouchy?? I haven't started mine yet but trying to prepare. I was thinking maybe getting some craft stuff so I can keep myself busy. I am a stay at home mom and tend to be exhausted and grouchy already! Hehe.

My surgery date is the 28th as well.... Liquid diet starts the 18th, not sure how I'll handle that!
