Me too! Sitting in bed, IV in too! I Feel great, rest up!

Just had my lap band surgery. Still have the IV in! Feeling a little woozy and sore at the incision sites, but besides that, pretty good! I'll write more later.

I feel great! Very small amount of pain at one incision site, a bit of a sore throat, but over all feel great!

We are home, sore, parched, little nauseas, very sleepy. I go night night now.

I'm in the same boat. Mine was going to be tomorrow. I'm at the hospital doing my pre-op. it's rescheduled for Thursday the 30th. Did u get a new date?

I am only 12 days out from getting my band and I was getting a little comfortable with my restrictions. I found myself tolerating larger than dime size bites, being able to eat more than 1/2 cup (more like up to 2 cups) and quite being so careful about how I was chewing my food. Tonight I came home, wasn't thinking, and opened the refrigerator and grabbed a strawberry. I took larger bites and didn't chew like I was supposed to. I didn't even notice the felling of the first strawberry passing through my band and then I ate the second strawberry and noticed an uncomfortable feeling, kind of like choking, but the feeling was coming from the bottom of my esophagus. I then realized that maybe the strawberries got stuck; this had never happened to me before, so it didn't bother me. I then panicked and started trying to drink a cup of Water to "wash" it down. Nope, water didn't want to go down either, I immediately threw it back up with some of the strawberries. The pain and fear began to increase while I began to think, "I hope I don't have to go to the hospital because of something so stupid, not chewing!!!" I then began drinking more water and that brought up a bit more of the strawberries, after about 6 glasses of water and throwing up each time, I finally got all of the strawberries out of my pouch.
My advice to you: If you want to challenge your pouch and get to comfortable eating, think again!! NEVER assume you are going to get away with going back to your old ways of eating without thinking about what is in your mouth, why it's in your mouth, and will it cause a problem with your pouch.

I would say day1 I was like this isn't bad( I was still at the hospital) and then the morhpine wore off DY2-3..I was like you have to be kidding me and I'm suppose to walk and drink it was the worse I was so swollen internally from the pocedure and externally from the gas and fluids. DY4 I was like Ok I just might make it and everyday has been better today I actually noticed the birds chirping and the sun shining(DY8) so I am wishing and praying you through to DY5(better safe than sorry..HAHA) just so you know I am so proud of you I know there are people that want to be right were we are but haven't gotten the nerve up to do this be WE DID IT our future is so bright I have to put on shades(so I'm a corny sap when I'm happy...

@duckydoom & cassiem93 I know the healing part really sucks but it really will be over sooner than you think I'm on day 7 and I feel 85% now but if you would have asked me on Fri I think I would have just cried Hang in there ladies there is light at the end of that tunnel(smile)

There are 5 August bandsters going in for surgery Monday. Remember we have a August 2012 Bandsters group you can join to keep up with everyone I guess all the Surgerons calenders are full no one new to list... Good luck everyone

We have the same band day and I feel great too! Everyday get's better and better so hang in there everyone!! Plus, it's fun watching that scale drop

Hello all you August Banders. I just wanted to give a quick update to my status. I am right at 9 days post op and I feel great. My incisions are healing nicely and my port side has no pain. I am still struggeling with gas and bloating by the end of everyday. I have started to take the Gas-X in the morning prior to leaving for work. I have already lost roughly 11 - 13 lbs. My scale isn't very accurate. My post op appt is on Monday so I will give you the true numbers when I have them. My appetite has been almost non exsistant. I am getting in 2 shakes and a bottle of Water a day.
The first few days after the procedure were typical. There was pain in my abdominal area as well as in my chest. I had a hiatal hernia repaired with my lap band. The additional surgery caused me to have a deep pain in my chest. This all subsided within the first 3 days.
I had my procedure on 8/15 and I was at work 5 days later. The first day back at work was uncomfortable sitting up in an office chair for 8 hrs, but I managed. Today is then end of my 1st week back to work. I feel great. I did have some stomach pains last night. I think it was still gas. I got up and walked around and I (please pardon me.. started to pass gas) and then I felt better.
Good luck to everyone who is about to go in and everyone who has already gone it. This month marks the start of alot of journeys for all of us.
