  1. Hi Everyone! I'm in Dallas and I get sleeved this Tuesday by Dr. Davidson! I just got back from the store and picked up all the last couple little things that I need post-surgery. I can't believe my day is almost here!

  2. So I have my pre-op appointment this Wednesday, surgery July 10th, and I think my surgeon is going to put me on my pre-op diet then. The past few days I have all of a sudden been eating TERRIBLY again! I had been doing really well for the past couple of months, and now I think I'm saying goodbye to all my favorite meals, it's been bad! I know it's not the last time that I'll be able to eat my favorite things, but I know I'll never be able to eat a whataburger patty melt meal in it's entirety again after surgery. I know the pre-op diet is going to suck and be really hard, but I feel like I'm ready for it to begin. It's been a year since I started this journey and I'm really feeling ready to get on with it already! Goodbye Whataburger and Luby's and Wendy's and Chick-fil-a, hello Protein drinks!

  3. Haha I love this post! You're so right! I'm having this surgery for many reasons, but a very important one is wanting to be a normal sized girl. I keep picturing myself in outfits that I've always wanted to wear but have been to big for all my life. Even at my smallest when I was in high school, I was still a size 12 (sounds tiny to me now, but I was the fat one then too.) Just 2 weeks, my younger sister (who is skinny and has always accommodated my larger size in car seats and airplanes) was having to squeeze into the middle of the seat between my mom and me, and I made her a promise that after my surgery, I will make it up to her by sitting in the middle seat for the rest of my life, lol. I seriously can't wait for that to happen!

  4. Hi my date is July 10th and I'm so ready too! It's practically all I can think about. I've had my date since march, and the months feel like they're going so slowly! I'm a teacher, so I chose to wait until the summer so I could have a nice long time to recover and get usedc to my new life. I've been trying to get heathier by working out 4-5 times a week and making some of the dietary changes now. I think I'm going to start replacing one of my meals with a Protein Shake now so it won't be so hard when I start the preop liquid diet. Besides that, I just come here and read a lot of posts to see how it's going for everyone. July can't get here soon enough!

  5. Congratulations Patrick! I'm getting my sleeve July 10th, and I've been trying to get healthier too before surgery. I've been cooking myself heathy meals and I've started working out at a gym 4-5 times a week and trying to get stronger and make changes now before surgery. I'm only 25 and am in good health too, except for the fact that I'm obese. Good luck to you! This is an exciting journey we're all on!

  6. I can't wait to be able to borrow and share clothes with my two sisters (and not just shoes)

I can't wait to not feel completely self conscious in a bathing suit

I can't wait to see people doing something fun and instead of thinking "I'm too fat to do that" instead thinking "I can do that!"

I can't wait to see people from high school and not be embarrassed by how much weight I've gained in 6 years

I can't wait to love myself enough that I can let other people love me

  7. Who else cannot WAIT for this summer?! The past few weeks have been dragging by for me, waiting for school to get out and to have my surgery. I'm not having it until July 10th because I'm going on a family vacation, and then I'm taking a graduate course for two weeks after. But I am aching for summer to get here! Hopefully this will be the summer of our lives =)

I also keep wondering how much I'll have lost by the time we go back in August. I wonder if my kids will notice a difference by then... Next year should be an interesting year for us!

  8. I've told my close family members and some friends/close coworkers that I'm having WLS surgery in July. So far everyone I know has been super supportive and excited for me. I keep waiting for someone to ask me, why and I've gone over my spiel in my head, but I haven't had to use it. I've decided not to keep it a secret because I'm thinking it will be pretty obvious when I all-of-a-sudden start eating like a bird and losing weight. I've also decided that I don't care if someone says something negative to me because this is my life and the journey that I feel is right for me.

  9. Hi I'm scheduled for July 10th with Dr. Davidson in Dallas! I have a countdown on my phone that I look at about 5 times a day! July can't come fast enough! I've been approved since March but am waiting for the summer because I'm a teacher and get the summer off. I've been preparing by cooking a lot more than I used too, and making healthy meals from a weightloss surgery cookbook. I have also started working with a personal trainer at my gym and have been trying to increase my cardio. I'd like to lose 20 lbs before surgery

  10. Hi Everyone! I just joined today =) I'm having my surgery July 10th, and I'm so excited I think I'm also driving my friends and family crazy with all my sleeve obsessing! My doctor is Dr. Davidson and my surgery will also be at Forest Park. I've been working on losing some weight before the surgery, hopefully 20 lbs. Anyone else having trouble with this? I'm trying to eat really healthy and I've been working out several days a week, but I'm always up and down between 5 lbs and haven't really seen any difference on the scale yet. I want to be as healthy as possible going into surgery. Any tips?
