  3. I got banded on Oct 29th totally feel for you if it wasnt for the gas the whole thing would have been fine. As everyone else said the heating pad on my shoulder neck was my savior. Gas x strips I didnt find worked but I did find the chewables worked a lot better. Someone on here mentioned phazyme 180 mg I am going to try them tonight. I am still having gas not as severe, everyday is better and do walk. Hope this helps oh and little sipps at first.
  4. I had straws in recovery room after surgery, however I remember reading no straws somewhere because of gas so I didnt use them. Thank goodness because I had enough gas pains didnt need extra

So I have never blogged before so I thought this would be a good way to express myself and in the coming months look to see how far I have come not just in loosing weight but also in my growth of knowlegde and acceptance of all stages I will be going through. So surgery was Oct 29th had a rough first night I did get a little too much morphine and was a little snowed, had horrible nausea and I was so scared to vomit however a lot of big burps came up. I did go back to my hotel room the next day and flew out on day 2 post op. Now Im on day 3 having a hard time getting liquids in and of the rolls of gas pain......I wish they would go away. So on word and upward I am going to walk walk walk and sip sip sip.......
  8. I too was banded on Monday and had a hernia repair. I am having a lot of gas, feel full and having a hard time getting the liquids in, I am trying to take a sip every few minutes and getting up and walking around my house lots. So not just you darn gas. I think if I didnt have this gas issue I would be able to eat.
  9. So I was banded on Monday October 29th with a hernia repair , I am feeling so tired and what did I do to myself talks......so when do guys start feeling "normal or a new normal"and yeah me??? Cause its not here right now. I am finding it hard to get down protien drinks a 1/4 cup and it makes me feel so full. Also having diarhea and just feeling like a rag. I am on clear fluids until friday and saturday start full fliuds however Im not even excited cause I feel so full from just sipping on clear. My incisions are not sore just feels like I did a lot of situps but the darn gas!!!! ugh if it wasnt for the gas and I am walking. Sorry for the rant just frustrated and a little jealous of the people that sail through this ~Colleen

First few days were hard but now Im not even hungry and have to remind my self to eat LOL. 22. Go with what your gut tells you. Find out what are your husbands fears are? When I first mentioned this to my husband 3 years ago he didnt think it was a great idea and thought is was an easy way out (and we know that isn't true) but with more info and knowing others that have it done he has come around and realize it is going to be a big help for me, he is very supportive . I am getting banded on October 29th I just wish i would have booked it and had it done three years ago. Good luck with your decision.
  23. So I start my pro op diet today surgery is Oct 29th. They want me to eat veggies (no starchy though) and 4-6 oz of meat for the next 2 weeks. Eek im starting to freak now!!
