Liver Ct?
They may just be wanting to see if you have a fatty liver, which most overweight/obese patients have. When one does have a fatty liver, a diet, whether low carb low calorie, or liquid diet, may be in order. Most doctors just put patients on diets, but again your doctor may be wanting to know for sure to eliminate diets if not necessary. I cannot speak for the doctor however, this is just an assumption.

Pre Op Diet
tjloser. I see you are having surgery tomorrow, just wanted to wish you the best of luck. I hope you have a wonderful surgery and a speedy recovery.. BentleyJade . I am scheduled for surgery on August 6th, and I have to do a 14 day liquid diet. That scares the crap out of me, but something that is required so I have to do if I want to move forward in my plans.

August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?
Ok so I'm not real sure what three things I want to list cause I have so many. We all share some of the same things. One of mine that I do look forward too and some may find this humorous. But I work on my parents ranch. I love riding horses, actually miss it. I don't ride much at all anymore cause I have dreams at night that my horse collapses when I saddle up. So I so look forward to feeling comfortable on my horse and not like I am gonna crush her and see her smushed to the ground with all for legs out to side.

Slederella, you are going to do great. Being first is a treasure. You get to sit on the loser's bench before the rest of us; and guide us to the bench with you. (uh hmm. I have a really big butt-for time being of course, so please save a big seat for me next to you on that bench)

Any Danger From Staples Popping Out?
Those staples look great. I know I haven't had VSG surgery yet, but I did however have an open hysterectomy 11 years ago. At first the staples are flush to the skin, but as your body heals and some of the swelling and inflammation leave, and the skin tightens back up, the staples will flush out some. On the other side, its nice to expect one can always laugh with your humor. The laughs make long days go by easier. Thanks.

Anytime. She's not able to text me cause of the charges. I guess thats something I need to look into. I never thought about roaming, or if it will even apply to me. I need to check my carrier plan. I would hate to not be able to text my friends or get a huge bill because of my texting, Definitely something to check into.

I am sure Sweetsusie will get on in due time, but I just thought I would update you all. I received a text from her saying that all was great. We were unable to text cause she is getting charged per text. She said surgery was a breeze and she has no pain at all. I will let her give the full details when she happens to get on. Just wanted you all to know how she was.

Newbie
Welcome to the boards Rosebee. All the emotions you are experiencing are completely normal. Almost everything can relate to your feelings whether they had surgery yet or not. I thought I had a handle on my emotions until I went shopping for supplies for my surgery, and that put my nerves into overdrive. I haven't told many people myself. My mom was the least supportive and very negative when I told her. That almost crushed me to the point of backing out. My husband who is very supportive kept giving me the strength to move forward. My dad backs me 100% but is worried like any father would be. My Aunt also knows and supports me cause she knows how I have struggled. My best friend, gave me the honey, your not fat enough to have surgery speech. So you will come across those who will stand with you, and those who will stand in your way. To alleviate the that complication I have chosen to not tell anymore people til after my surgery. The negativity can wear a person down and make them weak and I choose to leave that part behind. I wish you all the best on your new journey of life. Any questions you have just hit people up, this is the most friendly, supportive boards I know of. Everyone is willing to share and help in any way they can.

August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?
No worries Vixkey, I think we all have tons of questions. Just when I feel I have everything answered, I go to sleep and my mind thinks of more to ask. I can't say that I have slept the best in a few weeks, and I can only imagine it gets worse the closer to surgery.
