  1. I had my sleeve the day after Memorial Day. I think it was May 28th, 2012. Anyway, I have lost quite a bit, but NONE over the last TWO MONTHS. I am stuck at 198/199 depending on the scales mood...LOL! I don't drink sweetened drinks, and really don't eat a lot. Sure puts into perspective how much I was overeating before surgery. Has anyone else hit a plateau that lasted THIS long, and how do I fix it? I REALLY do NOT want to go back on just shakes. That **** sucked! Thanks for your thoughts and ideas, and I wish everyone a healthy and happy new year! (I would like to lose about 50 more #'s....)

  2. Actually, I am two weeks and 5 days. My husband and I just painted our living room Friday, which is pretty huge by my standards due to high ceilings. Worked for upwards of ten hours! Gained two pounds that night! Yesterday, I did kinda graze a bit, as I was exhausted, and my family was scattered about doing their own things. I gained ANOTHER pound! Please explain HOW I can be gaining when I still am not eating verty much at ALL! And yes, I am on solids, and I am trying to make sure it is low carb, as in mostly meat and cheese.< /p>

  3. Well, I have been on puree since last Friday, and I have been "pureeing" my food by chewing it to death. Well, I am sitting here in SO MUCH PAIN that I am going back to Protein Drinks tomorrow. It isn't worth the pain. I barely ate anything. Maybe 3 ounces. My problem is I eat too fast. I am supposed to eat baby bites, and wait a minute between bites. I haven't mastered this, and I just ain't willing to go through this again. Flavor is good, but not like this. LESSON LEARNED BODY!

  4. My stall started at a little LESS than two weeks. I tend to lose fairly fast, so I guess it is OK that my stall started sooner too. I think some of the stall is that we begin incorporating puree. Our bodies have literally been starved to shrink our giant fat folk livers. My philosophy is that our bodies think they have hit the food lottery when we first add in puree. After a few days/weeks it should realize oops, still wanting/needing more to stay this size, and we drop again. I'll let you know how my theory works out. LOL!

  5. I have a pain under my right incision, second from the right to be exact. I was fine, then all of the sudden it started hurting. I have been doing pretty much everything I want to, but I think I might have injured myself bending over to pick up after my son. Now, when ever I move, stand up, turn, sit....just move, it has a sharp stinging feeling. It burns and stings! Any ideas what I have done? Do I need to contact my doctor?

  6. What about Gastric Bypass? From what I read, it seems that sleeving is most appropriate for folks between 35 and 50 BMI. You want surgery, but more than that you want to be safe and LIVE. These protocols are in place for your safety. Check with some other doctors, and see if a different surgery might be more appropriate for you at this time. Just a thought......

  7. I have been doing Protein Shakes since day 3 after surgery. How are you doing? Days 4 and 5 were ROUGH for me. Day six was much better. I just want some energy back. I hope it comes about when I get to add pureed foods. Never thought I'd look forward to pureed food, but I already have my refried Beans, salsa, and sour cream sitting in the kitchen awaiting me! Call your surgeon's office if you have any questions. They were WELL PAID to offer up any help we need. Hugs!

  8. My sugar is good. No meds since I started pre-op diet. I do look forward to the future, but right now sux! The dooped part is that nobody every really talks about the shitty parts of this surgery. I know I would have already fallen off the wagon if I had a choice. I think that is why I chose the sleeve. Another yucky part is what I CAN have. I HATE the Protein Drinks. They weren't bad at first, but they make me sick now....like almost puke. I WILL puke if I eat broth. I have zero options. I am going to call my nutritionist Monday, if I don't drive down and sit in her office. Something has to give. I have a yucky taste in my mouth 24/7, and my breath could kill! I need something mushy; it would be better than these nasty azz Protein drinks! Thanks for all the support guys. You have NO IDEA how much I need it right now!

  9. I am literally crying like a baby typing this. I knew this would be hard, but I had no idea it would be this tough! Everyone tries to emphasize the positive, which is wonderful. However, I feel dooped in how difficult this really is. I feel like my life is over. I am withdrawn, and hardly talk to my family without snapping at them. Please help me.

  10. I just talked to the surgeon on call. He said it would be fine to have some tomatoe soup! Just really thin. He said it was just important to be on very thin liquids. WTH do they say the extrememly limited crap they tell us? I am so perplexed, but hopeful. I can handle tomatoe Soup. I just hate fruity flavores and yucky broth. I just haven't been eating. I can do the shakes, but geeze......enough is enough!

  11. I walked to our car today. Baptist Hospital in Nashville is a HUGE rat maze. Once we went though two building, my daughter realized she couldn't remember where she parked in the parking garage. That was a lot more walking. I will get out and walk our culdesac after dark. Can't imagine putting on a bra right now, so night walking it shall be...LOL! Thanks everyone. I just needed to hear that there is a light at the end of this tunnel!

  12. I was just sleeved on Tuesday, May 29th. I am just a couple of days out, but boy oh boy do I hurt. I feel like I have been beat in my abdomen, then set on fire! It is bearable most of the time, but getting up from sitting position or sitting from a standing position is excruciating. I have also had a couple of coughing fits that REALLY hurt, as did the ride home from the hospital today on our crappy Tennessee highways. How long til the majority of this pain subsides? food is the least of my worries. I just want to feel crappy. Please share.
