  1. Thanks alot!i had a complication with surgery and am 6 weeks out tomorrow otherwise i would have started earlier lol.how about the timing?how long should i work each arm a day?

  2. At this point' date=' I think you are just going to have to give it time. I know, not the answer you want to hear. A lot of people have little to no pain issues. You are like me where you are having a ton of it. I truly know how you feel! I called my doctor's office in tears 3 1/2 weeks out because I was in so much pain. "Magically" on the day of the anniversary of my 4th week, I woke up pain free and have been ever since. I felt like such a baby for having so much pain with VSG. I'd been told by more than one doctor in the past that I had a high tolerance for pain and this surgery made me feel like a weenie! Do you still have prescription pain meds? If so, use them. If not, call your doctor and get some more. You should not have to live in pain and the pain meds help.

Hang in there dear! I know this is rough and it feels like it will never get better. I promise it will though in time. If you need someone to talk to in real time who understands, send me a pm with your phone number and I'll be happy to call you. I know how defeating this can feel right now![/quote']

thank u so much for the kind words.it will be three weeks on tuesday since my surgery.i hope it does get better since i go back to work in another week.i dont want to be holding my stomach everywhere at work.i do still have some pain med lortab but it seems to make me more sleepy than helping with the pain.i even tried tylenol extra .i even changed beds last night cause my bed is so high.i will keep you posted.i want to wake up one day and it magically be gone lol :-)

  3. Heating pad????? I'm gonna try that!!!! Im 4 weeks post op and still having tenderness :((

yes what i did was put the heating pad right on it then a small pillow oj top of it and rested my arm on top it of to secure it down.worked pretty good.i know everyone says it takes time but i cannot wait to be fully healed :-)

  4. I had my surgery on July 12th and was wondering if anyone else is getting their excercise in?? I am just trying to recover but I notice some people saying they walked miles??? I just don't have the energy for that!!

i have not exercised and i was sleeved on the 10th.im still in recovery also but i have been walking on my treadmill about a mile a day and if not ill go walk the mall :-)

  5. What you're going through is completely normal. I took prescription pain meds off and in the first 4 weeks. I even called my doctor's office 3 weeks postop crying because I was in so much pain. What helped was to use one of those stick on pads that gets hot with a Spanx type garment over it.

Hang in there. It will get better. I woke up on the 4th week anniversary with no pain. I was sure it would come back' date=' but nope it hasn't and today I'm 7 weeks postop.[/quote']

like a ben gay patch right?something like that.cause when i put my spanx on it rubs against that incisions and feels reqlly uncomfortable :-\
