  1. I was sleeved on November 5th, just started mushies and purees. It has been going good so far. I am only getting around 400-550 calories a day. How about you guys? I was sooo excited to start more real food, but then I got a bit of refried Beans in front of me and was like "meh". It tasted great, but just don't have that hunger like I used too, so that's a good thing. Are you guys having any trouble identifying the full feeling--it seems a bit different to me since surgery.

As far as pain, I still have some subtle sharp pains on my left side, but it seems to be getting better each day. I am looking forward to exercising more. I have been walking a mile a day, which has been great, but ready to pick it up a bit.

  2. I am pre surgery (November 5th) and am realizing this is going to be one of the harder things for me! We have pot lucks and share lunches all of the time!! Last Friday I ate my 400 cal lunch and was still relaxing when someone brought in 2 large pizzas! argghhh....it was hard but I resisted--- was pretty proud of myself, but looking more forward to where I don't feel left out or crave it!!

    Thanks for sharing

  3. I am self pay and have surgery scheduled in November. I have insurance, but have to be bmi of 50 to be covered.

I am concerned about complications and those not being covered by insurance?

Has anyone had experience with this--I seem to be finding situations where they do cover complications that arise and others where they don't. I have Kaiser Permanente in Oregon.

I am wondering if it is better to be proactive and ask membership services if they would cover complications, or just keep my mouth shut and pursue that path if complications do occur?

I am confident in my surgeon and his practice, but there are always risks.

    Thanks for any feedback!

  4. Hello all- I have my first consult next week. I will

be self paying.I am worried that during surgery something will come up and I will end up having to pay for hospital stay. Anyone know any stats or complications that cause longer hospitalization? Or how often that occurs- I plan to discuss with my Dr., but thought someone around here may have some insight.

    Thanks
