It was very weird for me. Nothing made a major diff w fills until I hit THE ONE, it was prolly only 1 cc, but it had a HUGE impact. I could not stop wt falling off, and I stayed that way for a yr. So YES, one fill can make a big difference.

NOOOOO, reread! The band company is the good guy w my friend, they WILL replace for no charge. The Dr is BAD, he wont do surgery for no charge! Bad man. Not my Dr!

This sounds like a fun trip! Too bad I live in SC. I like the idea of Parkin at the border and walking to Applebees. And I would walk for a 4.5 cc fill if empty. What a dream come true. Y'all should meet and go together!

Sorry to be blunt but this a pet peeve of mine! I really think they string us along for the $$$$$$$. The slower the fills the more $$ they make. Think about it? Heaven forbid we would get to our sweet spot during the normal 6 mos. FREE period LOL! Don't get me wrong, i love my Dr and his nurse, but he's there to make the $$ just like everybody else! I've been fighting this battle for 4 yrs. Got below goal w no probs and had to be completely unfilled, due to a reaction to Fossomax, got pissed and stayed w too little fill for 11/2 yrs, gained 56 of 79 lbs back. Finally got mad w self and went back last Tues. Whatever I said, or maybe it was the begging, she pumped me FULL as a tick, I am bursting. Yep, the road to fill heaven Iis frought w tears, reflux and protein shakes! . I will prob go for a half cc unfilled this wk, but for now I'm milking it for all the wt loss I can. 3 oh Yeah protein shakes, lots of liquids, Popsicles, and watery grits. Can't live this way, but is a good jump start for my 2nd time around! I mean, from NO restriction to almost blocked w 2.5 cc? This is what they can do if they want to! Just sayin...........

My good friend had this happen, the band company offered to replace her band at no charge, but her Dr. Would not operate for no charge. They were still arguing last I heard. Soooo wrong! She had lost a LOT of wt too. :(

Would I Have A Problem Going On A Relaxing Vacation After Surgery?
Joybgunter replied to marketingdude's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey! Here's an idea. I am sorta thinking u won't be in the mood for travel, constant riding, going to a diff restaurant every meal, I could NOT have, maybe I'm a WUSSIE. LOL. But, ur thots staying close make a lot of common sense. Why don't u and husb mman find a super resort hotel and just check in close to Dr? I don't know what's available in that area, but you'd have a great luxury Room, room service if desired, a pool, beach, other resort facilities u could take advantage of, think massages, facials, spa relaxing stuff. maybe?????? Just having your hair washed and styled wld b fun! Best of luck to u, whatever u decide! -
Oh what a dreadful story! FYI, hospitals are happy w any effort to set up a payment plan. Even $25-$50 monthly keeps them happy. BUT, you must get to the financial Dept. and work it out w them, not just start doing itt.

Restriction In Morning, Not In Evening?
Joybgunter replied to JennyBee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In defense of the alcohol suggestion, I believe a cocktail can relax the band in the evening before dinner. But, each to their own? It did help me! -
Call, call, call ur Drs office. They will get sick of you! LOL As long as u hv done ur part KEEP calling! Best of luck.

$75,000 Bill! So Confused/scared..please Help!
Joybgunter replied to NewMissB's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That is dreadful! And SO WRONG!!!!! I had a hernia repair w mine too and stayed a night in a big luxury hospital room and it was 12-14,000.00 w 6 mos. of fills. What did your Drs. Office quote u before your surgery? Also, while your waiting for offices to open, see if u can find ANYTHING in writing from insurance or Dr quoting price. Good Luck to you. :):) -

How Did I Possibly Go From 200 Lbs To 124 Lbs And Back To 176 Lbs?? :(:(
Joybgunter posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
after a year and a few months, w NO probs, I had lost from 200 to 124 lbs. Yep!!? A size 16 to a size 4. My internist, KNOWING I was a lap band pt. Prescribed Fossomax , and wi NO instructions on taking it w, food, no food etc. After two mos. I had the most dreadful pain ever, rushed to my bariatric surgeons office and had all fluid released. Instant releif! After two months w NO Fossomax and much Nexium, I had gained almost 40 lbs I got 2 fills w in a few mos., they were scared to get me back where I was successful previously. Long story short, I got so tired and depressed, I did not go for a year, and now I am back to a bouncing 176 lbs. I guess what brought me here today is that I did get the courage to make appt. w bariactic surgeon today and am nervous and wondering did this happen to anyone else? -
