I am at day 8. The first day I had one baby carrot. It has gotten easier and is easier than I ever thought it would be. I have my eye on the prize and dont want to jeopardize my health or surgery.Every dr is different! I think you are fine. I started tues and my dr allows veggies as long as they have no butter and I can use fat free dressing

Day 2! I found 2 ready to drink shakes that are yummy. Since I flew for business I had to go shipping when I got here. Luckily I stay in a hotel where I have a fridge. I packed my lunch and off to a full day of training.!!! I remember when I first got my date and all I thought was that is so far away!!! Now it's less than 13 days!!!! The people that I have told are so excited for me and ask lots of questions. I am nervous and excited how are you all handling the wait???

Ok' date=' so my first post on the day I started, I said it wasn't that bad....about 30 minutes after that post I had a MASSIVE headache that lasted almost 2 days....I'm sure my body was in SHOCK. I did not prepare before starting, I hit it cold turkey....holy hell, not a good idea. But now I'm in day 4 and it's the first really good day that I haven't cheated (I've only cheated with real food protein) and gotten through just on shakes and bars and carrots, which I'm allowed. I'm feeling good. Your body just needs time to adjust to the huge change! Hope everyone else is getting through![/quote']I started my preop diet today. I can have veggies and my shakes. I am glad I started a month prepping. I gave up cokes, coffee and for Bfast and lunch I have been doing salads with my Protein. I hope I don't get headaches

I travel for work and had the same problem. First I tried taking the ready mades - they were so heavy' date=' so now I get the ziplock snack sized bags and pre measure each serving (two scoops per bag). Then I put all the snack bags into a larger baggie and seal it. Light, small and ready to go![/quote']
Thanks! I just hope airport security doesn't give me a hard time with baggies of white powder?!!! That could make a very bad morning!!!!!

I am traveling tomorrow but I do t want to carry the big tub of Protein Powder. Anyone ever travel without the ind packets???

I have been adding them to my boring vanilla Protein Shakes. The hazelnut makese feel like I am having a great coffee!

I think his office is very well run' date=' and I have had no issues at all. Considering that he does not advertise, I wouldn't have known of him if not for the referral from our family doctor of many years.
Are you seeing Dr. Garza as well for supervised weight loss? She and her office staff are wonderful, IMO.
Presby Plano was a great ![/quote']

Hi All!! I just wanted to update everyone =) Surgery was yesterday and I am doing great! little bit of gas and a little pain when I drink some fluids but doing great other than that. Had the stomach leak test and passed with flying colors. They removed the drain today and the IV will be removed tomorrow morning. The IV has been more of an irritation than the drain ever was!! They will pick me up in the morning at 10am to get me to the airport so I can go home!!! Woo Hoo! My doctor seemed pleasantly surprised I lost 20 pounds since he last saw me especially since he doesn't do a pre op.Today was my last preop meeting with doctor. Have two more doctor appoints before surgery : cardiologist and pulmonologist.
Should be all set to go by end of day on monday other than my egd on thursday.
Great start Patrick!!! You are on your way to a successful weight loss journey !!

I am having a bad day. My life revolves around food. I am on day 5 of my preop diet and had to go to dinner 2 times. I feel left out because I can't eat my favorites. I know this is stupid and I will be fine and in time will eat my favorites in very small quantities but I am sad today. I am mourning food for no good reason. It has not been my friend and it has gotten me to a point that makes me unhappy. My family doesn't get it but I knew this group would. I ordered a salad and asked for fat free dressing and extra cilantro and green onions for taste and the guy was great didn't charge for the bigger salad. I can do this and I know it's the best choice I can ever make. Thanks for letting me vent! Stacey
