tgonzale1959 got a reaction from LiveStrong41 in Still Testing..
Hang in there..my wait was for4 yrs as when I finally went through the program we got a hurricane and it took all I had to get my house remodeled to move back in. So I started again last year and it took a year for me to get through and just do it. I had to go through all the tests again and I think it is the best thing to do. I am sure you will have no problem with the insurance, They know in the long run it saves lives and health issues.
Being that you are young, I think this is the best thing you can do or yourself. I am 52 and wish I had the means and technology at your age. I have wasted so much time. But know what, I now work out and do things that make me feel alive. I am going on my first cruise and going cave-tubing. I would never have imagined doing these things. I went from a 4x in jeans to a 1x at the moment. Just putting those jeans side by side make me feel strong to get going on this adventure. I have had my slip-ups and plateaus but get passed them and right back in it. I have lost half of what I want to lose so still have the rest to go. So good luck to you and however long it takes, it is worth it.

Your doing great. I will share with you that in the beginning you will have to experiment with different foods. It may take you a while to figure out what goes down the easiest until you get used to learning to feel for soft stops. It took me months to eat eggs. For me a lot of food tasted different to me and my tastes seemed to change. My MD told me he had no idea why I felt these things but he had other patients tell him the same thngs. I ate a lot of greek yogurt and grits in the beginning with protein powder added to everything. Honestly I worried in the beginning if I would ever be able to actually sit down and eat a normal meal and also wondered how in the heck I would ever get down the protein and veggies I was suppose to. All of this comes with time and practice. It really is like learning to eat all over again. Good luck and keep up the good work.

I wish you the best of luck. I remember the first few weeks after surgery I dopped twenty pounds, but I was so glad when I finally got to eat those soft foods.
