Does anyone know if your body shape affects weightloss. In other words, do pear shapes lose faster than apple shapes?

Brandy, You look really good, but Im sure you'll look and feel even more fabulous after WLS. My BMI is similar to yours even though Im only 5'4". When are you scheduled for surgery? My date is 7/3/12. Good luck to us both!

Her BMI will probably qualify her in Mexico. Some places here in the US too, just not covered by insurance.

My friend had to have hers out just months after VSG.

My current weight is 196 and I'm scheduled for surgery in a couple of weeks. Are you ladies exercising? Protein intake? Water intake? I'm sure that you will continue to lose, just at a much slower pace. You will catch up and be at goal within the year... That's the pattern I've noticed from sleevers that start at 200 or less. Good luck and keep up the hard work!

I'm very anxious right now. My surgery is 7/3 and I'm going to the DR. Im hiding out from friends and somewhat down. Counting down the days...

I have struggled with my weight my entire life, but somewhere inside me I have always known that I would not be the fat girl forever. I believe I have found the tool that is going to help me reach that goal! WLS is going to help put an end to my struggles. I know I have hard work ahead of me, but I'm ready! My question is: How many of you have always known that you were not going to be obese forever???

Have you tried laser hair removal? It's quite affordable now... Thank god! I laser my entire face every 6 weeks for $99 us dollars. I'm quite happy with the results.

Yes... It's called a short-scar brachioplasty. The incision goes under the armpit.

So today I went for my upper GI, xrays, and sonogram. The first thing that goes wrong is that the sonogram tech tells me that I am not big enough for WLS. Thanks, but no thanks. Please keep your opinions to yourself. My current BMI is 34.4 and has been much higher. Then, the Upper GI was awful! Yuck! After the test the doc tells me that I have really bad reflux and I should talk to my doc bc WLS will make it worse. Well, funny thing is I NEVER experience heartburn or reflux, ever! It was probably me gagging the whole time during the test that showed the "reflux" issue. Ahhh, also.... my pulmonary function test shows my lung age as 45 years old... I'm 29! So does that mean I failed??? Im scheduled for surgery in the DR, but have been having tests done here in the US. Bloodwork tomorrow. Lets see how that turns out...

My lowest weight as an adult was 145 at 19 years old-- I was literally starving myself and taking all kinds of "supplements". Please keep posting your updates on this group page.

Hello everyone, I am still post-op but already have excess skin on my arms from the YoYo weight highs and lows! I was researching the arm lifts, but I REFUSE to have the traditional arm lift with the longggg scar. Today I came across this "short scar brachioplasty", where the scar is hidden under your armpits! There are a few before and afters on you tube and the results are fantastic. Has anyone had this procedure? Cost?

It's cheaper in Mexico, but I have family in DR so I feel more comfortable there.
