  1. I have told obviously my hubby' date=' my mum, my brother & about 6 friends so far. I have just been telling friends as it comes up.

Part of me wants to tell everyone on Facebook. But then I worry what people will think, or if they will be watching all the time to see how much weight I lose.[/quote']

I've found that there will be people who will judge the fact that you are slicing off 80% of your stomach! after all I was one of them,(shamefully) my best friend had it done and I judged her, but I of all people should've understood why she did it, and now I'm in the process of getting sleeved I envy her cos she looks FANTASTIC, so I have had people judge me even my fellow Christians, I believe God created surgeons and had them come up with this WLS so people like us would not be stuck in our homes hiding because people look at us in disgust, so who CARES what people think, as long as you and your loved ones are content and happy with your decision, God wants us to be free and happy, not bound up and depressed , all the BEST

  2. I'm an Aussie too living in Brisbane and have my surgery booked for 30 May pending release of some super - keeping everything crossed cause I only need 4500. I have been on the Australian sleevers forum but find it very frustrating to navigate so I come on here. The banding together forum also has a sleeve section now since there are quite a few band to sleeve convertors. Let us know how you get on.

All the best with that, I live in Sydney Australia, been married 18 years overweight basically since I was 18 years old battled up and down, and all I dream for now is to have this surgery so I can live again, I suffer from back pain knees have had it also , and I have an old Treadmill injury (Anckle) that won't go away so I've tried to exercise, but I mostly need this surgery for my children's sake I want to be able to move again and play with them, I have 5 wonderful kids and a loving husband who loves me for who I am, but I said to my family I need to do this for me.

  3. Hi There

Whilst this is a fantastic site with bazillions of fabulous people' date=' there is also an australian site called gastric sleeve support dot com dot au. There are brilliant people there who arrange meet ups and offer support. This site has great info and support and the Australian one is probably better for finding out about surgeons and hospitals in Oz.

    Good luck with your journey![/quote']

Thank you will look in to that, thank you...the reason I wanted to get in touch with Aussie Sleevers was because I wanted more info of their experiences wether there was anyone also who have applied for ERSF, and how they went, thank you for the heads up.

  4. I don't know what this is' date=' but I just prayed for you. I don't have to know, since the Lord does. God bless.[/quote']

    Thank you,

ERSF, Early Release Of Super Fund, is Australian Supperanuation, we are not permitted to touch this fund, except on compassionate grounds, the process consists of an application made by me with supported documents to request the reason for request of An Early Release of my Super Fund.

    Thank you for your prayers

  5. Yes' date=' we are accountable, but we are accountable, too, for not taking care of our bodies. I believe, for many of us, this is another way of taking care of the body God gave us. This is an amazing journey![/quote']

yes I Agree, what I meant was, when Jesus was told by Lazarus 2 sisters that Lazarus passed away, he mourned with them, scriptures tells us he knew how they felt, I believe Jesus knows how we feel and what we go through with trying to eat right and exercise, so yes I thank God for weightloss surgery, I honestly cannot weight till I can get mine done.

  7. Hi All

I am a mother of 5, married for 18 years, a Christian since I was 12, my battle with my weight started when I was 12, I came to the conclusion of surgery when I had finally had enough of battling this demon.

Im from Sydney Australia, Iam currently in the process of getting finances together to fund my sleeve surgery, a Christian friend of mine found out I was going to get the surgery done, (I know she meant well) soon as she found out what a sleeve was she said boldly, "we are accountable for what we do, the day will come where we will stand before God and be accountable",

I had no comment, but then I pondered on it for a while and I started to feel condemned, I woke up at 3 am with the voice of the Holy Spirit saying Gluttony is a sin, Holy spirit went on to say Mark 9:43-47, if your hand puts a stumbling block befor you and causes you to sin Cut It Off!!!

you can imagine the sense of peace I felt after.
