Well everyone... the time is ticking down now! I have been working so hard to make sure I do a perfect last few days of my diet, I had a few off days earlier on. I am excited to get this started and ready to go! I don't get my time to report until tomorrow so I am curious when I will actually have the surgery but am glad I am staying the night. Two little kids at home and a rough time with nausea so I am going to take the extra time they give me gladly!
Wishing everyone a great surgery tomorrow and Thursday! We will all do great! Please share with me your post surgery doings.... I'll need to hear from everyone as I start my journey!!

I wish you the best with the iron! I too am PCOS and have Iron issues... was actually rejected by my insurance and had to wait two months for my iron to be retested! Luckily the test went well and I have surgery on Thursday! Take the pill and it will improve and you will be set to have your surgery as planned in October! Good Luck!

Hi all!
With much insurance issues, problems with Iron levels and drama from the process I am so happy to say that on Thursday I will be officially on the other side of this process! I am both nervous and excited.... scared and eager.... and the emotions go on and on.... I have lots of issues with anesthisa and nausea so hopefully they aren't too difficult.
Anyone else having surgery on Thursday? I am pretty much flying solo on this one, besides my husband for support.... I wish everyone else lots of success and look forward to reporting as soon as I am out of surgery!
Thanks!!

great accomplishment! Congrats to you on your success and congrats in advanced for your future successes as well! Sounds like you are doing excellent! How long have you been banded?

Wishing you both great success tomorrow! I hope to be where you are in about 6 week! Stay strong and remember that all the hard work you did so far and will continue to do will add years to your lives and make it so much richer even on days when it sucks! Good luck and keep us posted!

what an awesome victory for you! I know right now I fear the amusement parks for that reason... others just don't understand until they have been there!!! Congrats on such a wonderful reason for tears!!!

Well I called the Dr's office and left a message for their Insurance person... didn't hear back so I will call them tomorrow. Then I called BCBS and spoke to someone who was nice but didn't have answers yet and she said she will talk to the woman in pre-approval and would call me back... I didn't hear back from her either. I will call them back again tomorrow! I just want to know and if I am not approved the quicker I know the quicker I can do whatever they need me to do so I can get this on track! Thanks for asking and I'll keep you posted!

You both are lucky... my Dr won't let us schedule anything until the insurance approves it... so I can't get a head start on the pre op diet or anything... just sitting and waiting..... Good luck to you both!

Thanks for your story! Your journey seems to be going so well for you! Good luck as you continue!!

Thanks everyone.... I'm going to call the DR's office tomorrow morning as soon as they open and if there is no word from them then it is off to start calling BCBS and calling and calling and calling!
-
Did you all call BCBS or did you call your DR? I haven't called BCBS yet.... maybe I should call them too??? What do you think?
-
Thanks! I am going to call tomorrow... I hate to be the squeeky wheel but I have to be!!! I just want to be able to mark my date on the calendar so I can start my new life!!! I have to do 2 weeks preop diet too but my dr. won't start anything until we get approval... the longer it takes the more it makes me think I will be denied! I'll post tomorrow hopefully with some good news!

I'm getting so frustrated waiting for Insurance Approval! I feel like it has been forever since everything was submitted, which was on the 29th of May. I was told about a week for BCBS. I have my whole summer planning waiting on the date of my surgery and since I'm not telling others I can't set dates to go visit family until I know where I will be in my recovery! UGGGG! Just feeling frustrated with this today and want to set a date already so I can start this journey! I'm ready... beyond ready... but want to start NOW! Fingers crossed I hear from them tomorrow!

So wonderful! I cannot wait to make the same accomplishments! Way to Go!

I too have PCOS and am looking forward to hearing people's responses as I am getting close to my surgery now... just waiting for approval from my insurance and then it will be two weeks from then.... having this does make me nervous but I plan to work beyond hard at it! I am sure you will keep losing... good luck with everything!!

Congrats to you! It is such great news and what a goal to accomplish! How long have you been banded? I'm waiting for my surgery date but I too just want to be under 200 pounds! Keep up the awesome work, you are inspiring others!!!

Thanks for this post... it has been like a nice journey for me to read! Wishing you all the best as you continue... I'm still waiting for surgery so I won't have a story like this for probably about a month. Keep us posted, I enjoy hearing about your successes!

I'm still pre-op but I have had other laproscopic surgeries in the past and it really sounds like residual gas. If you get relief from walking that is a sign that it is the gas and notsomething else. The gas can travel, weird as it may seem, all the way up your chest, into your shoulders and even down an arm. I have heard on here that some people say it gets worse after a bit before it gets better. Hopefully you feel better soon! I am sure I will be experiencing it soon as well....
-
Thank you for your inspiration! I am pre-op now but within the next month I hope to get started and one day have a similiar topic to post! Congrats again on your amazing success!
-
I've also heard people talk about having a Protein Shake in the evening, frozen a bit more and it gets them through longer... (i'm still in the pre-op stage so my help is limited). Good Luck!

I'm watching too... and as soon as they said the lap-band I said "oh god I don't want to hear anything bad" but they didn't they just said some bonehead doctors are idiots and care about the dollar over the patient.... but they did say that it is successfull if done right!
