    Eatting!!!

I've also heard people talk about having a protein shake in the evening, frozen a bit more and it gets them through longer... (i'm still in the pre-op stage so my help is limited). Good Luck!
  2. I'm watching too... and as soon as they said the lap-band I said "oh god I don't want to hear anything bad" but they didn't they just said some bonehead doctors are idiots and care about the dollar over the patient.... but they did say that it is successfull if done right!
  3. Hi everyone... this is my first time posting my own topic... finally getting to be a big girl here I guess! Anyway, today I had my Endoscopy done... the final thing I have to do before my medical clearance. I'm very happy and excited and even relieved to have gotten through to this point in a pretty quick frame of time (less than 2 months). I have alot of feelings today, it is the first time I am scared to do this! I am still more than 100% confident it is the right decision but I've never felt scared before. Maybe it is the anesthesiology talking but I am honestly scared..... I read so many strong and amazing people on here but did you ever just feel scared?
  4. Welcome to you as well from one Newbie to another! I've become slighlt addicted to this site... always reading, responding when I can, but taking in as much information as possible. I've gotten great ideas, read great successes, read tough struggles, and really feel more comfortable with my decision to proceed. I too am a mom with little ones and don't have an option... I have to do this for them and for me. We are all in this together! Good luck as you start the process, I am just able done with all my pre stuff like tests and have my medical clearance on the 24th so am hoping for surgery early in June.... Keep us all posted on your journey and you will hopefully read posts and questions from me thoughout the process as well!

    Day After

I know we aren't allowed to drive home, must have a ride. I would lean toward the cautious side and make them come get you... I know I have little ones at home too but I think it would be better to be safe and it is worth it. Good luck and you will figure out what to do that is best for you.

    Scheduled 6/12/12

I don't have my date yet but Dr. said within the first two weeks of June so I am a June Bandster without an official date but hey I'll take it for now! Looking forward to all of us working on this new journey! Good Luck to you all!
  9. So glad to see you make it though but even more than that you did awesome! I am in the pre-op stage right now but hearing others stories helps me think about this new life that is in process! Sounds like you are focused and right on track! You keep up the great work and you will be set! I too am a teacher, I am supposed to get mine the week after school lets out, so that gives me the summer to get back to feeling good and get into a routine before I go back. I am not telling others of the surgery, just my husband, so I am planning things out now... I told my mother this weekend that as soon as school lets out I am going hard core with healthy eating and getting focused on me! Hopefully she won't ask too many questions. She is just too tough on me and either she would judge me poorly for my decision or she will be watching me like a hawk when I am around her and ask me things like "you sure you should eat that" so I've decided at this point not to share my plan. Please keep me posted on how you do and I look forward to hearing more of your successes! Good luck also as your school year ends!
  10. This has been a question I was wondering too as I get further along in the process and hoping to have surgery the beginning of June. I have told my husband (obviously) and my best friend. Thats it. I don't think I will tell even my mom whom I share everything with at this point. She has always been a tough one with my weight and I think she will expect me to drop very quickly and will be always questioning my eating and what I do. I may tell her with time, I may not. I will be honest that I am turning a new leaf in my life and starting to put myself first and think about my health in a new way.... we are all doing that.... we are all going out on a new adventure... maybe it is a solo one or a whole group party but we are all in the drivers seat this time.....
  11. So jealous! I can't get my date set until I have my medical clearance but was told it should be somewhere between Jun 8-20 so I can't wait to get my official date! Congrats on getting your and best wishes in your new birthday!
