  1. I was banded 6/5/12 and i remember the preop diet as if it were yesterday. It's tough, but once you make it through you'll look back and think "that wasn't that bad". You're going to get headaches and you're going to feel tired and sluggish. Sometimes I think the only thing that kept me going was the protein shakes, I could have as many of those as I wanted but most days even drinking two was a struggle. On the go I would grab a muscle milk protein drink from a gas station (they tastes pretty good). Good luck to you, seems as if you're in the right frame of mind! Best wishes
  2. My band was empty until 6 weeks after surgery
  3. It seemed like forever but it was actually very quick. My information was submitted on a Tuesday and got the call for approval Friday from aetna.
  4. Yup! My surgeon did. A picture of my band as well as my liver.
  5. Wonderful! I can honestly say I've never crossed my legs... one day :-)
  6. Amazing! Congrats to you
  7. Congratulations! Everything you're feeling is normal, you'll do just great
  8. If you have to repeat over and over that you're not being nasty chances are you're being nasty. There's a difference in being blunt and being nasty. But hey, who am I :-)
  9. No problem! That's what we are ALL here for, to share experiences, not judge *cough coughhh
  10. Well ME personally I was banded 6/5 and last weekend I went out and got drunk. Am I going to turn in to an alcoholic to replace my food addiction? Hell no. Do I drink often? Nope. You are given directions/instructions and you choose whether or not to follow those. I chose not to for an evening. I'm 23 yrs old and to never drink again even sounds ludicrous. Would I have had a drink 2 weeks after surgery? Probably not. But to each their own.
  11. I was banded 6/5 and have lost 25 (post op included) and I've had several people tell me that they can tell that I've lost weight. Maybe Its just shifting or maybe they're just being nice lol, I personally do not see it yet. All in due time I suppose.
