Had surgery on the 12th and don't get these staples out until tuesday the 25!!!! They are hurting me and bugging me!!! I think it has been to long!!!! OUCH!!

I guess each surgeon uses different methods....I had glue on mine...that came off on its own in like 3 days. Sorry to hear that they r bothering u...they will b out soon!!

Sleeved August 15th and down12 lbs. but I can't wait for soft foods next week. I don't want to see Jello or another Popsicle again.

I just posted something similar . My sugery was on August 14th I weighed in at 235 today I'm 212 It almost scared me as I wasn't for sure that it was healthy but from what I gather this is normal. The advice I got was to enjoy it and though it scares me a bit I'm trying to embrace it as a wonderful start to my journey. Best of luck to you

I feel u....I was sleeved Aug 6th...@ 290....today I weighed 265..crazy!!

I'm hungry but scared to eat. I eat a little and I immediately have to use the restroom. Trying to find something I can eat and be full.

Me too....30 min after eating I have to go.

Hi everyone! I had my post-op appointment today (surgery was August 7th). It feels so good to have those staples removed. :-) We went over my labs and everything looks great so far. I'm down a total of 22.4 lbs (includes the 2 week pre-op diet). Whohoo!!!

OK....so I hit a bump in the road...I'm still in the hospital. I had a pin hole leak...n had to go back in surgery Wednesday.... the day I should've went home. I am feeling a lot better n should be home by Sunday. At least it was found before I went home....out of the thousands of surgeries he has performed.. I am his first leak.

So I just joined this Forum and I'm loving the informative real to life topics..But can anyone tell me if you've had pre surgery doubts and pre surgery excitement at the same time? Ever since my initial appointment a few weeks ago' date=' I've been thinking about this surgery 24-7 and I don't even have a surgery date or approval from my insurance co!! My BMI is over 40. So, basically , I'm a shoe-in! I'm half way done with my required tests that are needed (bloodwork, sleep study, 5 year weight history). Still waiting on psych eval and ekg to get scheduled.

My dilema is, Half of the time I'm scared that something will go wrong during surgery and I will never get to see my kids again and the other half of the time I can't wait to get this over with so I can be healthy and thinner! Its insane this emotional thought process of a roller coaster.

I just want this to be done and over with so I can get on with my life. I don't want to be at the hands of an insurance co to decide whether or not they will pay for it. I don't want to be at the hands of a dr that can seriously screw up and F my life up. But I do want to be healthier, more confident and be here longer to spend with my children...I'm all over the place..someone, anyone, please tell me this is normal?? [/quote']

I can completely understand your fears...it was like the closer my date came the more movies I started to see where someone dies from surgery...or the birth control commercials talking about blood clots....I was sleeved on Monday....n as soon as u r rolled in..for u the surgery seems as if it was only 5 mins. Its normal to have those fears...but trust everything will b OK...n you will b happy u went thru with it.....good luck!!!

Surgery tomorrow!! Nervous and exited. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers I go to hospital at 8:30 am and surgery around 10:30 I think. Pre op diet of 2 weeks I lost 10 pounds. Holy cow I am nervous now. I just want to wake up from surgery so I know all is good. I can deal with pain... I sure hope so. Thinking of all of you having surgery tomorrow. Hugs

The person his office referred me to does not have an appt until the 27th of August. I tried calling preventative medicine case mgr, they NEVER call back. I am kind of walking blind. I'm with Kaiser and I'm having surgery on Aug 6th with Dr suh......I had my psych eval done thru Kaiser mental health in riverside. Dr suh said it did not matter if u go thru his mft or Kaiser. I know for sure Kaiser has a sooner appt. U just have to get copies of your evaluation to give to Dr suhs office. Mental records are the only records he do not have access to with Kaiser. If u look under a post I started titled damn damn damn...the number for the mental health department is listed there. Good luck!

No I did not have to meet with a therapist first.... I called and scheduled a appt with a psychiatrist. I just told them I needed a psych evaluation for bariatric surgery.

The best news on this journey so far at my surgery consult this morning!

Surgery is in 5 days.... Aug. 1st (same day as Nina88 but different hospital) Dr. Chin had a surgery cancel right before my appointment today and gave the date to me so I do not have to wait until September. SO EXCITED! What is ur date again??? Just remember you will probably feel horrible a bit less each day..
