$65,000 Nightmare
I'm sorry to hear how this is stressing you out. I worked for a health insurance company for many years and, yes, they can rescind payment. HOWEVER authorization is often done using ICD-9 codes so if the procedure authorized was the one submitted for payment, I don't know why they're acting crazy. It's going to be a fight but the doctor and the facility will be there with you every step. They won't let this go down easily because when we rescinded payment, we took it out of future checks! Ugly!!! Don't let it stress you out!!! We (the insurance company) made many, many, many, many mistakes in my time there. I spent most of my time with claims appeals of things we did that were just stupid. And it often took us a while to realize it was stupid. Loved the people there but hated the process. Hang tough and enjoy life with your sleeve.

Dallas June Sleevers?
FINALLY, a response from my surgery coordinator. She has not received any medical records. I called my first PCP from the last 10 years and their log shows the records were put in the mail Wed, probably picked up Thurs. YAY. The second PCP has only been my physician for the about last 18 months. Medical Records said request was in progress. I told her it was needed to schedule a surgery and she said they would go out today or tomorrow. I thanked her perfusely!!! I reported this to my coordinator who said she couldn't promise a June surgery with Dr. Kim, the spots are filling up fast. I told her that was fine. It sounded like I needed a miracle so that's what I'll be praying for. If any June sleevers want to pray with me, I sure would appreciate it. I think it would be great to join you cool June Dallas Sleevers. Thanks all for "listening". You're the only people who even know I'm doing this so you're my new BFFs. G.

Dallas June Sleevers?
Yes! I've got this on my phone too. Definitely my new addiction. I laid in bed last night reading posts! Sue, do you need a routine procedure from the cardiologist? You may have to call around a bit but I bet you can find someone to work you in. idk about abq but there are hundreds of cardiologists in the Dallas area. If they know it's pre-op for a scheduled surgery, they'll work with you.

Dallas June Sleevers?
First they have to gather the 5 year history from my other physicians and then send to the insurance. I don't know if it's with the office or with the insurance now. I'm really trying to move this and squeeze into the June schedule.

Dallas June Sleevers?
I'm still waiting for an update. Tried email. Today tried phone. Hmmm. Guess I'll have to use smoke signals. Are you June sleevers with Dr. Kim going to Decatur?

Bump In The Road And I'm Worried.... :(
Nope, I don't know you. But I'm praying for you like I do! You know who rules so let Him be in charge, not Worry.

My Texas Sleevers
Carrollton, TX checking in. I've had my first consult with Dr. Kim and I'm waiting to hear about insurance approval. The waiting is the hardest part for me.

Dallas June Sleevers?
I'm new here too and I live in Carrollton. I had my consult with Dr. Kim 4/20 and I'm waiting for insurance approval and scheduling. I emailed my surgery coordinator for an update but I haven't heard back. I don't want to be a nag, but this is so important to me. I have travel out of the country planned in August so I'm trying to be a June surgery too. Am I overreacting? Thanks, and it's great to find you!

Intro From A New Member
Hi all, this is my first post. I've been stalking the group for a couple weeks and now I'm out in the open. The reason i joined this forum was every time I typed a question in Google about VSG, this forum showed up in the results and always had the best answers! So I joined and watched for a few days. I am so impressed by the knowledge and compassion of the people here. I haven't told a single friend, acquaintance, or family member about my decision but I feel totally comfortable sharing this journey will all of you. More later and thank you for all you do! G.
