  1. I can relate to you. I didn't understand for a very long time what love yourself meant until I gained weight and was depressed all the time. I was always the person I thought I was supposed to be and not who I am. Now I have taken this time to focus on me and I am learning new things about myself all the time. It's very hard, trust me. I have loved someone for years but I'm now realizing they didn't love me for me they loved the opportunity that I was. It hurts but I'm getting through it and it's such a relief to be me & not care about what others think. I'm embarrassed by my finances, I didn't realize how I neglected them. I make pretty decent money but can't a stick of gum on credit. Now I am working on that as well. I matter. I am great. I am beautiful. I am worth every ounce of sweat and tears it takes to become a better me. No more summer school!!!!

    Anyone Getting Banded In July?

July 12th is my B-Day!!!! I'm so happy! I start Pre-op on July 5th. Congratulations to everyone that will be getting banded this month, WE ROCK!!!!
  3. NWgirl is right. It depends on your insurance. I have BCBS IL and it took a day and a half when the papers were submitted and I only needed a psych eval and BMI of 40+ but my surgeon required everything else I had to do. All in all from start to finish with me it took about a month and half to get done and approved. Good luck! Call your insurance and find out their requirements if you haven't done so already. Keep in mind your doctor may require additional qualifications/testing.
  4. Ok, I called BCBS IL and was told that the papers were received yesterday, 6-20-12, for review and approval! I am freaking out! I am sooooo tired of this overweight ride that I can jump off and puke! First I was waiting to finish the testings and waiting for results. Next came the waiting for the doctor to review the folder and submit to the insurance company. Now, I'm biting my nails waiting for approval. OMG! I nervous and I'm scared and I'm excited all at the same time. Should I call back tomorrow and see if it's approve? The CSR told me that they will mail me a approved or denied letter, I can't wait for snail mail! Ok, I'm going to wait until next Tuesday, 6-26-12. #omgnervous.com

Have you had a fill yet? How often do you feel hungry? I happy that you had Dr. Sarker as well, she seems to be very nice and straight forward.

    Any Chicago Land Bandster?

I live in Maywood, not too far from you. Where did you get banded?
  12. In the meantime, has anyone that has not started a pre-op, taken the initiative to lose weight on their own? Like I for some reason can't seem to get focused to eat right and workout but I know once I am banded I am going to be so excited that I'm just gonna kick right into gear. I know it sounds sad but I'm just speaking my truth lol. Everyday I am planning to eat right starting "tomorrow' and I never do. I guess I feel like I've been so unsuccessful w/o the band that I can't find the motivation to lose on my own. I have failed countless times in the past and I don't think I can face that again.
  13. I've complete everything and I'm waiting on approval & a date. I definitely know how you feel.

    Help!

My LBT theme is now different on my desktop! It looks just like my wireless app. I cannot see my ticker or anything html. Please help me change it back if possible.
  15. I have completed all of my tests and appointments and now I am waiting on the Surgeon to review my folder and then send to insurance for approval. My Surgeon received the folder on last Wednesday, so hopefully it's been submitted to insurance. I don't know, maybe they call and tell me it's being submitted?!? I'm just ready for a date so I can know how to plan. I really want to start buying pre/post op necessities but, I don't want to jinx it. What are some of the things that you have done to take your mind off of "the wait"? Please help! I'm ready!!!!!!!!!! lol

    Starting The Journey...(In Chicago)

I went to a seminar at NW and you just need a pen and maybe a pad of paper. If after or during the seminar you decide to go w/NW for the WLS, you can fill out the application while you are there so that you can get a headstart. They give you a purple folder w/a list of names and numbers of team memebers so that you may start to make appointments. On the application will be questions about medical history and also medicines that you have taken. There is a page that ask you to list all the diets you have tried in the past. Not intimidating but to be prepared have that info with you only if you want to fill out the application and turn it in while your there.
