  1. Hey Guys & Dolls

Im 2.5 months out and last week received the green light to be on Reg food. I've been scared to try anything but today I looked over my list and saw I could have Veggie Pizza! Oh how happy I became. I went to a pizzeria and got a slice..with broccoli, spinach ,cheese and mushrooms. I removed the mushrooms bcos I think they are yucky! I took like 4 bites...FULL...And threw the rest away. Did it hit the spot? ehhh kind of but I felt throw up-y after..I still feel stuffed. And now I no desire to try pizza again...No way...I domt like how I feel afterwards lol..Glad I was able to try it and get it out my system. My dr office recommends trying something new once a day to see how u tolerate it. I love my sleeve. Down 46 lbs since Aug 17th and counting. -;)...

  4. So sorry you are having a "moment" ; ) I was lucky' date=' My MD let me eat what I could tolerate after just 2 weeks...Haven't had any issues at all...Hang in there![/quote']

Realllllly? When were sleeved? & how many Lbs have u lost? And thnks-:)...I will I'll be switched to soft foods next week..which will basically be the same foods..LOL..smh..

  5. OMG I so want real food!! Even if I can't finish it all..I just want a little taste. I'm on puree foods..So it's been chicken, tuna, canned chicken and salmon for me. I would love to have a chicken ceaser salad.. or even turkey burger with cheese....oh and a glass of juice!!!! -:( I want to eat healthy and just at moderation. Boy I can't wait to be placed on regular foods. This is torture..LOL!! Just venting!

  6. Hey VST peeps!!!

Here is just a update with my VSG journey. Started at 287 sleeved on 8/17. Had my 1 week follow 8/27 weighed 272. I DO NOT weigh myself at home. I don't want to stress over numbers. So rely on my clothing to let me know if I'm losing or not. My next weigh in will be at my 4 week visit on 9/20 I'll share those numbers at that time. *crossing grinders hope I went down some more*

Now with my sleeve. I am thankful to say I have had zero problems! I can drink Water, eat my food without any problems and take my Vitamins. My body let's me know I'm full by burping. But its scary. Bcos it seems like the sleeve isnt working. I mean it seems like those that were sick lost the most weight faster, Due to the fact they couldn't keep anything down.

Now I am on the puree stage and I pretty must just east Salmon, tuna, canned chicken, mashed potatoes Protein shakes, egg whites yougurt..jell-o pudding SF and SF eddy fruit bars. I measure everything and only consume 1/2-1/4 cups.

I can't lie days I don't feel hungry so I don't eat or one day I totally forgot to eat after the morning bcos I was out and about. SMH..But I still take my Vitamins.

I haven't had a BM in a few days and had to get stool softener. I sip throughout the day but it doesn't feel like I'm getting enough liquid in bcos I only pee like twice in a day. So odd! Before I had my VSG If I drank Water I was running back and forth tonthe bathroom.

Is anyone else having having bathroom issues?

  7. My surgeon was not impressed with single-incision surgeons. He basically said it's a gimmick and could compromise safety for minor cosmetic improvements.

I would definitely like to see some studies in the future. I bet in 5-10 years when they have enough data we can see if the single incision is just as safe.

    Good luck.

Ha! That sounds ridiculous! "gimmick" ...smh... What state is your surgeon located in? Tell him he should reach out to Dr.William O'Meally of Rochester,NY and I'm sure he or she can learn a thing or two. The SI is very safe. The surgeon just has to know what their doing.

  8. I'm gonna be sleeved on Sept 5th..... I would love to have a single incision' date=' as I also have keloid skin. Where did you get your sleeve done? I didn't know you could request a single incision.... I will ask for this ;)[/quote']

I too have skin that keloids so that's why I requested the SI! I got sleeved in Rochester, NY. My surgeon is excellent! Very in demand after being on the Oprah show! LOL...So When I said I wanted the SI he showed me where the incision would be through my belly button..and like I said I'm pleased! Check out my postings and your see my pic I posted. If you are worried about scaring I would def go for the SI!

  9. anyone know if the recovery for the single incision is any worse as far as pain is concerned? i assume it would be but just curious if anyone knows for sure. i get that ones who have had single dont know how the others felt and visa versa.

my surgeon said i am right at the cusp for it but he wont know until he gets in there and sees for sure.

I had my VSG on 8/17. I requested the single incision and I love it. No real pain at all. I posted the pic of my incision while in the hospital on here and ppl were amazed bcos You can't tell I had surgery! I say go for the single. U'll only have the one area to worry about instead of the 5 holes. oh & if u get the SI don't freak out If it drains. It's ok. Just will need to have your gauze on deck. Good luck!

  10. I am so thankful I'm feeling and looking great. Went to my FU visit ( surgery 8/17) today and I lost 15 in a week! -:)...Hopefully it keeps dropping! Oh no scratch that I know it well! Starting weight 287. No pre -op diet. Only thing today they couldnt fer blood..my poor veins are tspped out. Gotta wait until they start to adjust And drink fluids to pump them up. OneDerland see u soon darling! xo.

P.s Thanks to all who sent prayers up

    xo

  11. I was just like you.... and even on Full liquids day 4 no problem with any liquid intake - protein' date=' pudding or any liquid quantity although I did feel like I had enough pudding yogurt type stuff after about 2 oz.... we are just some of the ones who have it easy. Checked with 2 doctors and both said it was not a problem liquid goes \ through sleeve quickly so you are fine. When I started pureed... tuna, cottage cheese.... yep I had been sleeved. Totally limited intake.[/quote']

sigh of relief!!!!! Ok so I'm doing this right! I was like ok I feel great outside of the little gas & my single insicion! thanks for your feedback!

  12. I had my VSG on Friday 8/17...currently on 7-10 day liquid diet. I can tolerate all that I am intaking I.e slim fast, Water, crystal lights, pudding, Jello. Has anyone else experienced this? I haven't thrown up..no nausea I feel great. Lord I hope my tool is working. I don't want to have to get anything readjusted (if that's even possible with the sleeve) talk to me. Yes I know we are all different. I need this weight to drop. Oh & I am not complaining at all!! I'm glad I'm not sick, but just would like to hear if this is common.

    xo

  13. Hello folks!

Surgery went great but not getting enough fluids in..Dr ordered me to stay until 2morrow. A little discomfort, I vomited blood and they were concerned but everything is great. Up walking which is annoying bcos I'm sleepy..lol..No "number 2" yet or pass of gas but I do burp often. I pray that this period gets overly quickly. Thank you for all your prayers-:) Talk to u all soon!

    muah xo

  14. I happy so happy they finally called to schedule me. My pre op class is August 15- and surgery is August 17. Things are starting to feel very real now!! ;)

ME TOO!! Aug 17th-:)..Our life will

    change for

the best. God bless you during your prosecute and may we BOTH have a speedy and smooth recovery/adjustment to a our new lifestyle! xo

  15. August 17th will be here next friday! I'm slightly nervous...Maybe because my family is a mess. I don't speak to my grandparents and barely speak to my mother. My grandfather is a very evil man. I was residing with them but now I stay with friends & uncle. Hopefully I'll

have a apt before VSG so I can have a peaceful place to come to afterwards. I can not and will not be in a stressful enviormemt. Anyway, I had my pre surgery testing. Blood work..EKG..everything tested good. My surgeon doesn't require a liquid diet. Only something 24hrs before actually surgery. So I'm heading into this cold turkey. *sigh* I pray I make

it thru the procedure and that I get the peace

& happiness I desire. Keep me

in prayers.-:) Yay new ME in 10 days! lol...

  16. 7/11 also and I am moving to Full liquids today...no pain luckily. My saving grace have been the liquid Vitamins I am taking' date=' they are stronger than Centrum and gummies, they are keeping me nourished while on liquids. I am so thankful for this new chapter of my life! Down 18.5 lbs in 2 weeks![/quote']

A few questions for you. 1) Where did you purchase your liquid vitamins? 2) How much did they cost and lastly which ones did your purchase? Meaning did you get Calcium, Multivitamin etc in liquid form. Thanks for your feed back. I am preparing for Aug 17th-:)
