We have the same Doctor. I was banded on Wednesday. It is very fast, in and out. The nurse is wonderful (Judy). Ask her to show you her pic. before lapband. If you have any questions just ask me, you can send me a pm message. Good luck Monday, I'll keep you in my prayers:gluck:
  6. I had my surgery this morning, and I'm feeling well, with a little pain, but not that bad. I'm keeping my liquids down, no vomiting or nothing. Ok, writing this post was enough adventure for me today. :sick :notagree

I was making a fool of my self. Laughing at everything, telling them that I was feeling soooooooooooo gooooooood:p "please giveme some more of that, that's gooooood" Oh well, hopefully they have seen worst cases, lol. JULLEE71 forget about the jeans, a long nightgown is the way to go or those big house dresses (the moomoo), lol. Trust me, you don't want to wear anything after surgery. I just took a nap, I'm feeling better and better, I can't beleive that my surgery was yesterday. Good luck to those having surgery today and tomorrow.

Nop, no gallbladder issues. If they are going to remove your gallbladder I think it's better for u to stay at least one night at the hospital. I'll keep you in my prayers so you can go as smooth as I did;)

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Wow! Sara, I'm so sorry you went thru all that pain and discomfort. I hope you recover soon, I'll keep you in my prayers. Like you I wasn't on a pre-op diet, but thank God, I had no complications at all. It was so different. Here is my experience: Yesterdey(Wednesday): 6:45 am I got to the surgery center(paper work) 7:00 am Getting ready, butt naked, IV, instrucctions, massage booties etc. (the nurse Judy, God bless her, has the band, she has lost 140lbs, and she show me pics., awsome inspiration right before surgery) 9:00 am Anesthesiologist came in ask some questions and put it some drug, and I went to happy land, I started laughing, and telling averyone how good I was feeling. I the op room, they ask me to move from the bed to the op table, and again, I started laughing and I remember telling them "I won't fit there, I can't move are you crazy I'm going to fall, lol" Then I pass out:notagree 10:15 Back to life in the recovery room, feeling a lot of pain and nausea. The nurse put me some pain med(demerol) and fenelgan for the nausea. 10:45 On my feet, walking. They took me to a machine where you drink something to make sure everything is fine. Went back to recovery area, sitting on a recliner until release time. 11:50 I was on the car on my way home So this was my experience, in pain for like 6 hrs. after surgery. I had a great sleep last night, pretty much on my back and on my right side. I can get in and out off bed by my self, up and down the stairs, no problem. I still have some discomfort, but is not even pain. So for all of you to be banded, you know now that it can go very smooth like mine or very rough. My advice, follow your phisician instrucctions, step by step.
  15. Good morning band budy! I'm feeling great too. I was banded yesterday as well, with Dr. Carter. I had a great sleep last night, I was able to sleep on my back and on my right side. I feel some minor presssure in the mid-sec as well, and some back pain, but not that bad. Good luck in this new journey. I'll be doing my best to have the best success.:clap2:
  16. I'm back, feeling well, a little bit of pain, but nothing that I can't handle. I let you know how I'm feeling on the next days.

    No pre-op liquid diet...

So, we go from the Docs. that won't put you on any pre-op diet (like mine), to the one day, to the one week, to the two weeks and research proves that 6+ week is ideal. I don't think anesthesia is the reason because after 3 c-sections, I was never told to go on a liquid diet because you are having a baby in two weeks. I know anesthesia slows your bowels but that's not the reason. I guess then, this is a personal/professional choice of the doctor so lets just stick to "what the doctor says".:tape:
  24. Today I went to my Dr to have my consult and pre-op evaluation. My surgery date in Wednesday, April 4. The doctor said that there is no need to put me on a pre-op diet. I know that a lot of people here have to go on a liquid diet before surgery to shrink the liver or something like that:phanvan :cry . Does anybody knows why some doctors do and some don't?:welldoneclap:
