  1. Hey banded plication peeps! What's your recovery been like? My surgery is on a Tuesday and I'm wondering if I can go back to work (desk job) on Friday or if that's too soon? I'm trying to save some vacation days for later in the year. Thanks in advance.

I had my surgery on a Tuesday also' date=' I was ok by friday but def not up for work, mainly because of the lack of energy. Give yourself the weekend to recover, you will need it! I wish u the best of like, please let me know if u have any questions!

  2. Hi everyone!!

I am brand new to this whole discussion board thing :) I have my surgery scheduled for 5/24 and I am FREAKING out!! I had lap band done in 2007 and didn't loose any weight...I've come to the realization that the band is a tool and its not going to do it for me! My dr. suggested the plication to help me get back on track. I'm nervous and anxioous because I can't find any results! I know its new but I am looking for some motivation

    :

You'll do great! My doc says the plication is that little extra something the band was missing!

  3. We should have a group...Plication Pioneers? I know that plication is really starting to catch on and it would be nice if those considering it would be able to find out information in an easy way. I know that I was desperately looking on here for any info on it.

I think this is a terrific idea! Also in regards to your question about how soon after approval I got the surgery date: my doctor only operates Mondays and Tuesdays' date=' he literally got me in the following Tuesday :). By the way today was day six and I feel great!

  4. Today is day 5 I still feel the nausea a little bit, but it goes away quickly. I haven't thrown up since day 1! I started having some yogurt and cottage cheese today it tasted great, I will have eggs for dinner and hopefully I can tolerate it! I'm so happy to have gotten the plication as I already feel restricted without a fill! I also didn't experience too much pain, other than the first couple of days I feel great! But then again I think dr Snyder is amazing and I talked to a few ppl that had the plication with him and they all say the same thing!

  5. I had the band with plication apr 2nd. I'm down 20lbs! Im not gonna lie' date=' my recovery was pretty tough the first 2 weeks but I feel great now! Nausea was the worst, but everyone is different. I skipped my first fill caz I didn't need it caz the plication is plenty of restriction. It's crazy how little it takes to get full now. My first fill is Monday and I'm still not sure if I need one. I think everyone should do the plication, weight loss is faster and it prevents from slips ;)) feel free to ask me any questions[/quote']

Oh so nice to find u! How long were you on the soft diet? 20 pounds in a month is amazing! Keep up the good work!

  6. I am considering lapband with plication by Dr. Snider as well and have a consultation with him on the 16th. Would you say it has been worth it? Being so new I worry about getting it.

Honestly' date=' he is the best! I have experienced very minimal pain, it is def not as painful as I had anticipated. I know that it's all thanks to him, I was really scared because of some of the comments but went on with it anyways and I am so glad I did. I lost almost 14 pounds just since the surgery which was on may 1st. Please feel free to message me if you have any questions or concerns...I know I was looking so bad to find someone that had gone through the same procedure but had no luck!

  9. I just got the banded plication done on 5/1. They released me from the hospital pretty late because I couldn't keep anything down, even after I got home I kept getting sick. Today is day three for me and the pain is pretty much gone, just sore and a tiny bit of nausea if I drink too much Water. I hope you feel better soon!

  11. To those of you who have the surgery coming up' date=' I want to give you a happy reminder of why we're all doing this... I just had my 1st post-op checkup and found out I lost 14 pounds since the surgery last Wednesday! And 26 pounds total since starting the liquid diet three weeks ago...

I don't know what happened with Shirley or what her health was like otherwise, or what happens to the others who have problems, but remember that the overwhelming majority of people who have the band are fine. And the majority of people on here are doing pretty well, too. You have to make decisions based on your knowledge of your own body, and your own circumstances.

Just think of all the people in the world who are out there, successfully going about their days and weeks, feeling thankful they have this, who don't think about coming to a forum anymore because they've just incorporated the band into their day to day life...[/quote']

Your message is the best thing I've read in days, you are absolutely right. I will have my surgery on the 1st, and I really needed to hear a message of hope! Thank you for making my day :)
