You are still in the healing stage. I felt the same way and had to nap! But you probably are not eating much protein. Make sure you have that and your chewable vitamins. Drink plenty of water!!!!! It was a feat the first two months to feel back to real normal. I'm two years banded now or almost, and a lot of posts are some similar experiences in which we all learn from, avoid, or gain knowledge. Hope you get feeling better.

I had a full after a long plateau, but I also upped my protein intake with a 40 gram Isopure zero carb drink ( liquid not shake) its not bad but expensive. Start looking for high protein drinks usually in vitamin stores and sports performance stores. The protein and less carbs have jump started my weight loss along with the fill. Also change your exercise. I did left weights and more cardio.

Hot shower or bath, heating pad, a good walk and stretch, or liquid Tylenol. I'm actually having this pain tonite so headed for a hot bath!!!!

Mine was December 2010. My pain did not leave for almost two months. It was originally from the surgery but I'm sure from dietary change and physical change of stomach with the band. I have these pains again from time to time when I am stressed and my band is too tight or if I have has a PB or stuck episode, which us rare. My left "angel wing" hurts always the left side. I will belch air. Sometimes it is because I didn't chew well enough or ate too fast or took too big of a bite. I ended up asking my surgeon same questions. Hope this helps.

Just don't gulp!!! You need to stay hydrated just check with your doctor on what he/she advises. I found that I drank a lot just to fill full the first six weeks until my band was adjusted with a fill. I would drink broth, jello, protein shakes, crystal light, Isopure zero carb beverage ( sports stores and GNC). You want to keep your energy up as you heal which is the most important thing to concentrate on now...not weight loss. Good luck and hang in there:)

Too tight!!!! I find that you can end up gaining or having troubles if you are just eating mushies, that's not quality eating and will hurt you in the end. I have suffered through two weeks of too much restriction up until this week. So, I probably should have not filled for another month but I was hasty. Which hurt me in the long run. Sure I made it through these two weeks and lost a good amount but it wasn't pleasant... And it should not have to be that way. I'm better now but in hindsight, I might have fine different. Love my band but must listen to our bodies.

Yes it was for me this week...ah ha...I can only put about 1/4 in my stomach now, and if I follow those rules we have learned, it won't stick and I'm full. Now I just need to concentrate on staying hydrated because I don't really ever feel hungry. I have lost 9 pounds since October 15 which is way crazy but it was the adjustment I needed to get me off plateau. Granted I'm a little more restricted than I prefer but I am getting solids down as long as I slow eat, chew a lot, and take small bites...so important now than ever. I bought a pair of used Lucky jeans for 16.00 and the size 12 are loose!!!! I would have never believed I would go below that!!!! I would have been satisfied with size 16 when I first got my band. Reach for the stars!!!

I know this sounds crazy but take your first fill of 2cc in stride. I'm glad I went slower to get used to the feeling that you will experience by second or third fill. I needed the time to slowly get used to eating less and less. I know we all want our weight off fast, but you want to be successful, too. Sometimes too fast is not always the best for your body. Good luck:)

Ok First Day After Surgery I Have Real Food!
Skyvic replied to vmarlau's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I love Mexican food minus the rice and flour tortilla I don't tolerate so well. I am learning to use beans so much more. Still love the cheese, chilis, and sour cream!!!!! -
To add, my sister had gastric by pass and now she is looking into lapband on top of bypass...none of these surgeries are full proof. Do lots of learning about all. I have a friend who has sleeve and two that have the other procedures and they are a success so far. Good luck:)

I know second thoughts you can consider but people with the band have to really focus on behaviors that got us heavy in the first place, especially me. Not only did I eat fast, but I took big bites and I don't chew my food enough. A lot of my stuck episodes could be prevented if I concentrate I. Those rules of chewing small bites, taking my time, and chew chew chew. I'm the poster child for this!!! The band has been successful for me almost two years and almost in a size11.

Congrats!!!! You ate going to love it and learn so much as you begin to eat different, such a gift!!!!

At First I Regretted It, Now I'm In The Sweet Spot!
Skyvic replied to wannabethin2012's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
So true!!!! My weight loss was more in second year. The first year was adjusting to a new lifestyle change. Healing, rest, learning, nutrition, and moving just walking was my focus. As I'm getting near the end of the second year, I'm reflecting and glad that I went slower with my weight loss...I still got there and only about 20-25 pounds to goal. Fitting in a nice loose size 12 now ( very different from a size 24!). Yes good advice...think of this as a journey of hills and valleys. Not always easy but do enjoy the little changes because they all add up. And eventually it works out great! -
It will get better soon. Just concentrate on healing, rest, adequate liquid and nutrition. Don't lift much. I'm a preschool director...two weeks of real healing for me and wa back to work half of second week but oh so sleepy!!!! It seemed that it took two real good months before I felt like me...except a little smaller!

Too Tight Weeks After Fill. Is This Possible?
Skyvic replied to Arizonakimc's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It's a pattern for me. Fill day and two days after on full liquids. So maybe that shrinks the tummy a little. By the second week I feel tighter and question the fill. By the third week I have adjusted and can eat normal but smaller portions with a couple stuck episodes. It takes me a good three weeks to get back to normal including my strength, energy, and even mood! -
My surgeon has given me .25cc fills. Those fills make a huge difference!!!! I went from 5.75 to 6cc right where I need to be...but a week ago I was in between red and yellow zone. It's better this week and weight loss going strong:)

My Band Knows Its Halloween And Is Laughing At Me
Skyvic replied to cheryl2586's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yep peanut butter cups...huge downfall and my band greets them openly. Fortunately it only lets a little bit go in but enough to do some damage!!!! Such is life that makes us human! Happy Halloween! -
I was told research says caffeine fine on band but absolutely no carbonation. I can't live without my coffee, but I guess if it was the rule, I would have to change.

Too Tight Weeks After Fill. Is This Possible?
Skyvic replied to Arizonakimc's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Same thing with me but it is getting better. I just had to stay on soft mushies a little longer. It seems that three days after my fill was fine, but then the second and third week has been tighter. Maybe the three days of liquid might have tightened more...not real sure. But I hear you the same thing almost thought about an unfill...however I just stayed on foods I could tolerate. But it was more soup, shakes, protein soft, I'm finally on the mend. But crazy how our bands behave. -
I have had small fills of 1cc to 2.5cc and lately just .5 and .25...I'm at 6cc but I specifically asked my surgeon to slowly fill me so my adjustments would be extended. I was banded December 21, 2010. I started at 274 and I'm down to 169. I chose this slow management, I surely could have gone faster. But my body has worked well with this route. My fat has melted and molded, need to work on small part of tummy. But overall, the fills were slower about once every three months. My surgeon really listens and also learns with me, he can tell if I need a fill or not through our conversations. It's been a good journey.

You know I'm about shy of two years banded. I too, went through kind of a mourning over the loss of the food and celebrating around it. You go through such a range of emotions from control to loss of control to loss. But, as the months have progressed I feel healthier, I look better, I have had to re-focus my thinking. I also regress after fills (Feel like I'm being punished) which is unhealthy thinking. I don't want the band so restrictive that food is not enjoyable. I've had to really reflect lately. I've had to focus on NOT rushing this journey. It seems now I eat out of nutritional necessity. Sure, I enjoy ice cream and sweets ever once in a while, but overall, I'm so close to goal that I'm keeping my eye in the prize. Just know there will be good and bad days, having this weight loss "outweighs" the bad days. Good luck and hang in there.

A lot of fast food really can't go down with my band. Wendy's chili sometimes gyro meat at pita places. Some if the meat at fast food including chicken is just way too tough for my stomach. I must be super sensitive because some people can handle things I can't. Banded at 6cc right now feeling rather tight thus month. It's a wait and see by next week whether I should unfill a bit.

Yay congrats!! I was banded December 2010. I took the slow route with smaller fills so I could get used to the changes as they come. Words of advice, trial and error, and hind sight: -everyone's band is different -everyone has different intolerances -cant compare fills or loss of weight -eat slowly and savor -chew well and small bites... -even if you can eat bigger just practice -think of this as a slow journey -don't get impatient with slow loss -listen to your body to know if: -you need filled or unfilled -make sure you keep Protein up -take it easy on self this month -embrace your social settings over the food itself...you will need this later -food may work one day and not the next...many reasons -don't talk and eat at same time -don't wait to exercise a year later...I did and I should have started sooner but I didn't want to -have good relationship with surgeon, I love my Dr.Hanosh excellent bedside manner and listens to me. -drink drink drink don't get dehydrated when you are a busy. -water helps constipation and digestion Hope this is something that might help. I've got 20 pounds to go and would have only changed a couple of things...but I have enjoyed the journey.

We all have our days of habits that creep up at our vulnerable times. That is what makes us human and who we are. A new and glorious day tomorrow but also a moment to reflect on our emotional needs. Tough week for me because food is not going down so smooth this week, it's hard.

Wow glad I stumbled on this today. After 6cc band filled last week, I am so restricted. But in addition ice had sinus drainage and a headache, not feeling great. Ill take a decongestant see if it helps. In meantime I guess soup, protein shakes, applesauce, cream of wheat, yogurt and other softies. Don't want an unfill.
