(Sorry If This Is Gross, But) I'm Getting Insane "slime" In My Mouth. Post Op 36 Hours...
Skyvic replied to jen043454's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did they put something in your band at surgery? They had me unfilled web band was put in for one month and slowly filled it. I'm concerned that you are all ready sliming. Please call your doctor. Look for liquid protein and maybe check out those coconut waters that have hydrating stuff with potassium. You don't want to get dehydrated...please be careful. -
Just look at the big goal of being healthier and looking awesome. Try to be busy with journaling and reflecting on this experience...mindful eating. Make sure you are getting plenty of liquid protein. Keep head in the game you will truly be successful!

Would I Have A Problem Going On A Relaxing Vacation After Surgery?
Skyvic replied to marketingdude's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'll be honest. I just wanted sleep and rest the first week. Still walked but felt tired easily. It's nice to be close to your doctor but please take it easy I did not feel like being in a car for two weeks. -
5Cc's And Have A Terrible Pain When I Eat Certain Things
Skyvic replied to sherrypep's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am just now at 5.5cc and I was banded in December, 2010... Took the slow road in my journey. Pasta, bread, white rice, dry chicken is not a part of my diet. I think I'm in the green Zune now...but I really have to chew 25-30 times and take it slower. I'm really learning the importance if protein too. Good luck. -
I did not spend money on those. I did go to Sams club and for the premier shakes and Atkins just make sure you get 20+ protein and check your sugars on info. Always check with your surgeon if the brand will be sufficient.

I don't count calories, but I di eat lean protein and veggies about 1/2 to 1 c on 5.5cc band

Has Anyone Tried Premiere Protein Shakes?
Skyvic replied to show1980's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes 17.00 at Sams. club in boxes. They taste ok especially I'd you are a busy person it's handy. -
I ended up with thicker shinier hair after banding. Probably because I increased my protein. I was intentional on eating healthy with veggies and vitamins...my hair grew so much!!!!

Don't do it!!!!!! Be strong. One day I had that craving I drive to burner king and ordered a coke icee (frozen) its bit as carbonated. Has a few bites and threw it away....as close to soda I could get.

Feel sore but taking it slower

That's funny you posted this I'm having same issues after exceeding core workouts. Do you know if we are supposed to up more protein? I think I'm in green zone but sometimes feel restricted as I'm doing exercise 4 nights per week.
-
Can your band get tighter after strenuous exercise during the week? I did some ab workouts and legs. I can barely move and walking down steps hurts my body. Most of all I'm having a hard time with food going down without burping and some pain and stuck filling the past two days.
-
Feel like a dork, I looked at the quote...I was banded in 2010... Never the less, I stuck to the rules of taking it slow and enjoying the journey. I don't drink carbonated beverages, no straw, 60 grams Proteins not very many carbs, take your Vitamins, drink 0 calorie beverages and Water. Walk and exercise, all the stuff we know:) sorry about the misprint (banded dec 21,2010) I'm losing more now than ever so give that first year a reflection on your habits.

I have had cramping after several fills. Just do what doctor says. My team says full liquids for three days and sip sip sip. I've taken liquid Tylenol and at times zofran. They can help u figure that our. I usually take it easy during those three days.

Don't Know If This Question Will Be Redundant...
Skyvic replied to Amanda61082's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My doctor asks me to eat a light meal day before and nothing five hours before my fill. I barely sip water. Then of course full liquids for three days after. That third day is hard so I have a thin tomato soup and applesauce or protein shakes. -
It is definitely a journey. I'm down 80 pounds since dec 21, 2011.... I always said I'd be happy and satisfied if I made it down to a size 16. Guess what, I'm in a size 14, actually feeling like exercising and at a 5.5 the band is working for me, with the rules. Now, I can make a goal to get into size 12...u r right it did not take overnight to put this weight on. Be proud of what you have lost! Good luck

Have You Ever Heard Of A Doctor Having Trouble Finding The Port?
Skyvic replied to shelbymooy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
From how my surgeon explained, the body is losing weight so the location of the port has somewhat changed ( mine higher) I was banded dec 21, 2010. I just had a barium x ray of my band to watch the flow of it and make sure it is working properly. He may need to look at this for future location. I never knew it would change its spot...I had even tattooed my spot so he could find it with a own each month!!!!! Crazy but my phobia. -
Sounds familiar... Yes it seems that after a fill it may take a couple of weeks for it to really take affect. I also realize how important those rules are now (they didn't mean so much the first for fills for me). I find that I may have to stop my meal, box it up, and finish it when I get home. I'm also thinking I need to up my protein with shakes web I feel so restricted.

Thank you! I will go in early and have a chat with a trainer:)

I have started Gokds Gym with a friend who is in her 160's and somewhat younger. She's kicking my bum...I live the work out but tried telling her I may have to start out slower and lighter weights. I don't want to appear wimpy...I don't want a cardiac arrest either...help!!!!!!

You might want to check with your surgeon regarding a band fill if u are grazing. U know sometimes I go to my old habit of grazing web I'm not actually hungry (that's my head talking) I am also learning to listen to my body and if I feel I'm grazing I know I need to have good foods ready, or get my fill. Hope thus helps I struggle at times.

If u can maybe see an orthopedic doctor to look at feet to suggest fit.
