    Please Help!!

I was super aware of my port the first four months. I would get little sharp pains that eventually faded. I'm 15 months banded. I found myself not hungry for long periods of time in which I would supplement wit high protein shake just to keeps self from getting dizzy or tired. I had some insomnia and would sip sleepy time tea around 8:00 pm. Check with your doctor, I know I had some anxiety after the surgery that put me through a spectrum of emotions:)

    Be Careful Food!!!

Wonder I'd you can do something like a soup with high amount of protein, cream of wheat, a frozen yogurt (Tasso) has 6 grams protein in it. It's in form of a creamsicle.
  3. I've lost 82 pounds and mine was paced out as I was banded in December 21, 2010... Gradual as I got fills. My most recent fill to 5.5 cc dropped 17 pounds from February to May. It was the most substantial loss going into my second year from a size 24 to size 14... And now almost size 12. Inches are coming off now more so than weight because I an walking 3x week, water aerobics one night, Pilates one night, and weights/cardio 3x week. I don't focus on scale so much anymore.
  4. So I'm wondering if you had been filled too tight. I go through small spells like that and have to remember that those restrictions mean smaller bites, better chewing, and focusing on protein. I feel bad for you and it scares me, I don't want this to happen to me. Hang in there and you will get back on track... A start over its ok.

Eating In Evening, Not In Morning

In a year and half banded. Every day is so different but I'm the same way. I really don't eat much until dinner. Maybe have a protein bar or drink in late afternoon. Up the protein. It's hit or miss on stick episodes at dinner.
  6. Hang in there, I've had a few of those spells after surgery my bloodwork showed I had a little lie iron but still low end of normal. Keep that protein intake even a spoonful of peanut butter or some cottage cheese might help.

    Unexpected criticism from friends

None of us should have to defend ourselves in the decisions we make with our bands. I know people sometimes have a hard time grasping onto the idea that some people (like me) need this tool to help me with quantity eating. If friends and family have negative words, it is not worth ther presence as you take this step to better health:)
  8. Isn't it crazy how our heads just take over. Even now, it's 6:00 pm and I'm not hungry. My head says its time to eat because it is dinner. I realize that there are going to be days that are great like this...then there are days I'm wandering around in the kitchen. I try to go walking, clean house, get on this forum, or watch a good movie, I know those days well!!!! Hang in there

To Tell Or Not To Tell

I tell people who are close to me personally. If people ask about my loss I tell them. I don't advertise it to everyone:)
  13. I had surgery on a Tuesday morning. Got out Tuesday night at 10:30. Took me the rest of the week to rest. Bit the following three days into the next week I only worked half days I was so tired no energy. Everyone is different. Take time to heal focus on healing not losing for the next few weeks.
  14. Wow I had Cigna too. You are lucky because I had to wait the six months supervised diet. I will have to let my sister know this as she is waiting too.

    Outta Control I Need Help

My band always feels more restricted for a few days. I just eat what I feel like even if it's not the best choice, and do more walking to distract my cravings.

    Sore From Surgery

Back, shoulder, you name it...I was sore all over, tired, and puffy. This will all eventually go away. Surgery anesthesia and body healing. Rest, sip liquids, and light walking and activity was my surgeons advice to me.

    Question

Let your fill settle sometimes it affects you a week later, concentrate on the process of gradual fills and nice steady weight loss. You don't want to be so restricted that you are throwing up food. My doc always told me to let him no in a week or two if I'm feeling satisfied between meals and if the amount of food us less, to ride it out...if I'm not feeling this then come in for a fil.
  18. I would still let your doctor know so he or she can evaluate you.
  19. In my mist recent weight loss, I realized I was walking more, sleeping differently, and my body is adjusting to new weight loss. They would ache so bad! I started putting banana in Protein shakes for a week, take hot baths, a little liquid Tylenol, and drink lots of Water. This worked for me. Doctor said I was fine, blood work good, a tad low in Iron. I upped my protein in take.
  20. I struggle at tunes when I'm visiting with friends or family, when I have waited too long too eat and I'm hungry, or I'd I'm watching a T.V. Show and not paying attention. Broken rule and stuck episode is a reminder of your band tool. Slow down, small bites, chew good, and don't get side tracked. It never seems important until later when your fills restrict you more...than those golden rules really affect you. Advice...practice now.

    Gas Gas And More Gas!

Just gases from surgery. Stomach Adjusting to band... It will get better.
  22. 1. Banded one year five months. 2. Wanted to get to a size 16 from a 24...didn't think about pounds ( but roughly 160) 3. Lost 82 so far...and in a size 14...and some 12's. 4. New goal size 145-150...I am extremely happy and healthy on scale 10!
  23. Soup...was the best thing for me. Cottage cheese, melon. Order a glass of Water. One tiny sip before and after...really small. Eat slow enjoy conversation.
  24. Don't worry about your period, that's not where they are doing the surgery. I was just finishing mine. Did not affect anything. Just remember the first few weeks concentrate on healing not so much on weight loss. Follow the liquids to soft stage to a tee. Good luck!!!!
  25. You are going to do great. Just hang in there and gain knowledge of band rules. Get your mindset for a wonderful lifestyle change:)
