Body goes thru physical and emotional changes. Hang in there and take the ride. I was banded in 2010. It is truly a journey of ups and downs, high energy and no energy. Seek support and take care of yourself.

Feeling the pain...I go August 1, I'm in plateau as well...hang in there. This forum has helped my attitude about the long journey. We will get through this. In concentrating on Protein, liquids, less far, more greens, and more cardio to burn calories. I've got 50-60 pounds to goal. Good luck.

Just get back on track. I didn't feel the full benefit of lapband success until the fourth and fifth fill. Results actually are better the second year if you investigate the company results on lapband. Tomorrow is a new day, you will get in track. Get that fill and make sure you get enough Protein and water!!!

Just found out that I can't get another full until August 1. Three weeks away. I'm definitely out of my green zone and I know I need to continue exercise and good eating habits. In not losing and at plateau. I'm down to 187. Why am I having so much anxiety???? I guess the fear of weight creeping up. Any thoughts beside putting my not so big girl pants on and deal with it?

Wow I needed to read this. Thank you.

You are all so right! I need to take this all in stride...usually I can handle set backs. I leave for Las Vegas three days after this fill, which is my anxiety of being too restricted ( don't mind softer foods but I don't want to be sick like I see in these forums). Ok I said it. On the other hand my goal is the green zone. I'll continue my workouts and healthy eating and stay away from scale...limit calories and maintain portion size. Again thank you all for the encouragement.

I read on lapband website that maximal weight loss happens between month 15 to year 3...maybe this will inspire our slower weight loss. Make sure you are getting plenty of protein.

Help! Bad Experience With Last Fill
Skyvic replied to Kathymarsha's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sorry to ask but are you staying on full liquids three days after your fill? That is what my surgeon requests, plus Zofran for upset tummy. -
At What Fill Did You Reach Restriction?
Skyvic replied to Tahneesamson's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm at 5.5 cc but falling out of green zone...so I need a fill. I'm beginning to get hungry in between meals and weight not dropping. A sign I might need a very small fill. Everyone is different. My surgeon told me you could go for months without needing a fill...some don't even need a fill just the initial surgery. Crazy right? I would think as you lose weight your band would need small adjustments. Mine does at this point. Banded dec 21, 2010 started at 268, down to 187. But I wanted to go extremely slow. It has paid off now I'm ready for more weight loss ( goal possibly 145-150) -
Peel em:)

Oops for Delilah88...hang in there

If you look at the Allergan site or Lapband you can see that the maximum weight loss actually occurs between month 15-3yrs. I'm in my 16th month...I've lost 81 pounds I wish I could have lost 100 in a year but reality is that it still will take time shedding these pounds even with exercise. In happy with the results as I'm almost in a size 12 and I'm healthy! Hang in there. In ready for a fill next week but also worried about the reflux stuff. Doc says don't wait too long for fills when you are out of the green zone.

Two small baby back ribs w barbeque sauce, 2 tablespoons of cheesy potatoes, 2 tablespoons of green bean casserole, and 2 tablespoons of cheesecake with cherries...that all felt like thanksgiving feast not a habit I want to take on. However nothing got stuck but I need a fill next week. Happy 4th USA!!!!

Wow!!!! That's great all this exercise. I'm actually enjoying it but feel like I'm lacking energy. We are doing three body parts per night plus 20 min hardcore cardio. Needless to say, I am tired!

Thank you for the information. I added more Protein after workout. But...I also have learned to hydrate more:)

I worry about dehydration. Nutritionist says we need more liquid with heat and excercise. I've had same issues too. Just light headed...she said to try ice Water with a small amount of orange juice.

Help...loose, Then Tight, Loose, Then Tight?!?!?
Skyvic replied to Lollicatt's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
This thread hit home for me...to fill or not to fill. It's crazy because I am scheduled for a fill next week. But today I could hardly get anything down. It's hot outside and I don't think I'm as hydrated as I should be. I'm working out five days a week, getting muscle tone, but no drop on scale. Very frustrating. I guess I want to see something change. I'm scared to get the fill in the idea that I could get too restricted. Does it mean I go back to more liquids, Soups, etc? Or maintain a slow plateau, continue workouts and take the slow boat? Help me!!!! -
Stair climber....the kind that looks like an escalator with about five steps. If u go slow, tighten your buns as you step, it works legs and butt. I do about 20-25 minutes to music and headphones. You burn a lot of calories and sweat! I feel like I get a great workout.

Thank you...looks like I'll just work on the old fashion exercise until I hit goal. I have a good 50 pounds to go.

Has anyone heard of this freezing fat which is non surgical. Let me know your thoughts, just heard about it a few days ago.

Yay!!!!

I Don't Want To Go To The Gym!! But No Work Means No Results!!
Skyvic replied to shrcumm's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I know the feeling but I was at a plateau with fills. The first two weeks of gym are hell if you go that route. After those two weeks, something happens, your mind will crave the weight loss and renewed energy. My gym is close and I go from 8:30-9:30 for a quick power workout and cardio. I hated it at first...stair climbers have tightened my butt and legs and made my heart stronger. It's a live hate relationship:() -
Realized How Bad I Need To Lose Weight
Skyvic replied to lrhodes46's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It's a huge reality check and even more so once you have the band and begin your weight loss journey. You won't regret it, just know it will change your lifestyle and mindset about food, fitness, and oh yes...new clothes!!!
