I will have one occasionally. If it is a frappe I just use a spoon...no straws, bad for the band. We r still human and a treat every once in a while is normal. Mocha skinny is good.

I gave gotten nauseated after a full when I'm done with my three days of full liquid, my first meal is sometimes queasy. I tend to take Zofran on those days. It's like a baby stomach, so I tend to eat soft mushies, Soup, etc the first week or so after a fill.

Dry meat, bread, thick pasta, celery, rice, sometimes chicken if too dry, eating too fast and not tiny bites( sze of pinky nail) , eggs unless poached, and it varies. Hamburger unless it's really tender and less cooked.
-
I can eat it if I chew good. Another banded friend throws it up. I can't always eat eggs, she can. Our bands sometimes have a mind of their own lol!!!!

I did my first Step class at Golds Gym today. I did the whole hour and fumbled through a few moves. But, overall I felt like this was a nice change up to weights, stairs, treadmill, and walking. I think I will go again.

If you can't keep liquids down that means you are too tight. I haven't had this experience yet and I've been banded since 2010, December.

Vasovagal response ie fainting after fill?
Skyvic replied to deneicy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've had a few fills and only passed out once just the edge of nausea, clammy, hot, and fading away. Next time ask doctor to lower your head and lay there for awhile until you are ready to get up. I get vasovagal syncope...it's just life. I always get a cold washcloth on my head. I love my surgeon because he knows to talk to me to distract me while P.A. does my fill. -
Yay!!!! Good to get head in game...you are going to be awesome!!! It's tuff, I was down and out about not getting a fill til August. Then I realized I am in control of my destiny. I am eating better and upping my exercise cardio and changing my workouts.

My hair might have been thin first two weeks, but after that it came in soooo thick. Hang in there!

Jeani81 I promise it gets easier and worth it!!!!!

Yes I have to lay down with cold wash cloth on head with head lower wen I get my fills. It's a needle thing and my blood pressure drops rapidly. Google P.O.T.S. postural orthostatic tachacardia syncope its a physical thing stemming from specific things. It sounds weird, my fear is needles, funny I'm getting better about not fainting if I just prepare myself. I get embarassed and have passed out once...get clammy and hot.

Whats The Workout To Loose Weight Faster?
Skyvic replied to s0utherndivadoll's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Yep I've had to really push the workouts in which I loathe and live at the same time. I needed to change my routine to feel some different body parts burn...a good sweat not a bad thing but a great accomplishment for someone who was 267. I'm down to 187, but at a weight plateau. Size is going down to 12...so I am accomplishing this exercising thing. -
Thanks I've been doing Protein recovery after my workouts and making sure I'm hydrated. We started changing our workout routine from 10 reps to 20 reps, 3 body parts plus 30 minutes of cardio. I'm wiped out and arms burn which means I needed this workout in those under arm ( brachio area?) love it!!!!!

Should I be adding more Protein if I am working out one very hard core hour at gym? Or do I stay with 60 grams?

Did you stay on full liquids for three days, atleast that's what my surgeon advises. That first week is almost like having surgery again. Soft foods, protein drinks, go easy for a bit.

How Do You Get Rid Of Water Retention?
Skyvic replied to hopetolose's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Drink water!!!!! Not so much salty foods. I drink cranberry juice with Splenda makes me pee a ton. -
My band has no removal date nor do I unless something goes wrong. Following the rules, eating healthier, and exercising is key to its success. To my success. I was a quantity eater so for me this band has been successful. I did choose to have fills slower and smaller amounts. I was banded dec 2010 from 276... I'm to 187 with a goal of maybe 145 or 150. I don't have regrets. I hope to learn from my band portion control and healthy foods.

Poll: Why Did You Get Banded
Skyvic replied to m1aman's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I got banded because I didn't want to be unhealthy, I was tired of being tired all the time, I struggled in restaurant booths, I wanted to see my downstairs while bathing in my tub if you know what I mean, I want my kids to see me grow older while being healthy, I didn't like the way I felt or looked, I wanted to get in amusement rides, I wanted to shop at regular popular clothing stores, I wanted to tie my shoes without having breathing problems, I wanted to get off of bronchial/asthma medication, I wanted to love exercising again, I wanted people to not stare at my "fat" arsss, I wanted to feel sexy and alive again... Gee I could go on. I have accomplished all of these. I'm proud to love myself again and live. -
It is definitely a sacrifice in which you have to be committed to. It is a lifestyle change. But, it doesn't mean that you can't eat or drink with your friends. However, it does mean that you make different choices when you do! There has been some anxieties in the beginning after my surgery when going out...you get over that and I'll tell you why. I was 276 when I hit rock bottom on the food addiction wheel when I realized I couldn't wear clothes I wanted or fit in booths at restaurants. This is just a couple of many on the list. After waiting a year for approval from insurance I don't regret this life change at all. I'm 187 and have more to go, in a size almost 12. Ok, your sacrifice is a selfless gift to your health as you get older. I would have given anything to have this weight off earlier (I started getting heavy at 27). Just remember you have to want this change for yourself. Good luck

Restriction: Full Vs. Satisfied
Skyvic replied to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT!'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree in all this...but I am no longer able to get bread or pastas cooked a certain way and rice. Many people simply cannot get certain foods down. I've tried a nibble of bread and it did go through ( tiny tiny). But overall it doesn't feel good. I'm glad for this because these items are what got me here in the first place. Our goal is to stay in green zone, I definitely try not to "feel" like I've had thanksgiving. This is all a learning process for all. I certainly don't want to feel too "restricted" and the satisfied feeling is the goal. Surgeon told me eat three small meals, two healthy Snacks, 60 grams Protein overall...and plenty of low cal liquid no soda. Educating ourselves is so important. -
Please Help...to Unfill Again Or Not
Skyvic replied to crystaldmm's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ouch that's my worst fear because I'm getting a fill from a 5.5cc -10cc banded. So I go to Vegas Aug 7-12. So I'll be on full liquids for three days cause my appointment is Aug.1... Not much time to tell how it will behave with a small fill. It sounds like the full is too tight. Frustrating you went thru this....maybe Protein drinks, definitely hydration, full liquids but I would still call your doc or sub. -
Lots of broths before baby food. I had maybe four jars plum and banana and had protein drinks, mash potatoes and gravy with whey protein powder.

I really enjoyed these posts. I have a good 30-40 pounds to goal. All of these posts signify the feelings and struggles we all might have experienced. Keeping out head in the game is so important...game for life. I think it's definitely key to have support and good communication with our lapband doctors. Listening to our bodies is crazy at times because our body signals are sometimes inconsistent. This week my goal is to change up my exercise and focus on better foods ( I mean healthier!)
