    Tight Band

You know I have had some virus this week with throat sore and drainage. This has been a soup and soft food week for me. My band does feel tighter and my priority right now is to stay hydrated. I hope you feel better soon. Banded since 2010 dec...colds for me do restrict a bit.

I Might Be The Only 1 Who Feels This Way

To me, this was the very reason I needed to go slow with my fills...so I didn't have to experience throwing up. I needed to really listen to my body after each fill or adjustment. It gave me time to understand how my body would respond. I have learned to chew better, take smaller bites, carefully know the textures that work for me and what I tolerate as my fills make the band tighter. I also know that illness, drainage, periods, stress, travel, time of day...all make my band feel more restricted. It's been 19 months and I am learning to slow my life down for eating. Making good choices are definitely my priority. But I have had throwing up experiences in which I had to really problem solve why it occurred. Do talk with your doctor and nutritionist because this should be a more pleasant experience:) best wishes

I'm the slow turtle too...but still winning the race. Surgery Dec, 2011... 268 size 24. Now I'm size 12...down to 175. Yes very slow but my second year of fills have been the most successful to me.

Are There Spammers On This Site??

I sound stupid, but what is a spammer? I thought you had to sign up on this forum.
  8. I never thought I would get used to not drinking with my meal but it works...if u need a tiny sip do so. The one thing I have to remind myself is to drink at all other times!!!!

A Rock And A Hard Place

Sounds like an unfill is needed. The first two weeks are tough for me, but if liquids are having trouble going down that means its too tight. Causes you to eat slider foods, creamed soups, soft food that may but be the best choice (although I bet it's the best choice for what you are feeling). I would call your doc:)

    I'm In Mourning...wanna Join Me?

In mourning...subway sandwiches, a huge cheeseburger, a thick sirloin steak, pizza, bagels and doughnuts, hmmm I could go on and on. But, in the midst of mourning I am celebrating life!!!!! Walking and running, bending to tie my shoes, pulling myself out of a bath tub, riding in amusement rides, hiking and climbing, swimming at a public pool. So it's a small sacrifice that yummy food.

    Still Not Hungry!

Yep it feels nice not to be hungry but make sure you ate getting enough vitamins, protein, and especially hydration. When all is going good line it sounds...we tend to forget to eat or drink. I did and ended up with a raging UTI infection from not hydrating enough. I think my body immunities were lowered from lack of eating and drinking on top of that I was exercising, working hard, and staying way too busy. I have to really pay attention when I'm in green zone and losing.

    Can I Do It Again?

Try it again:) life lessons learned you sound like you have the desire and drive to go for it, you know the rules, trials, and errors. I think maybe there is more support about lapband, too.

    Update

I know it seems like forever but before you know it that weight will come off. I started in size 24...down to a 12, I wanted to go slower to accept this life change, wasn't sure if I could do this...so I had conservative fills. Just keep your eye on the prize:)

    Update

Tonite I tried a hamburger cooked less than usual to keep it softer...hamburger did fine until the last couple of bites...I even chewed smaller bites:( But, I also was lying down watching T.V. Everything I do this then get up to eat, my band is tight...hard for things to go down. I haven't had any problems for a good week. I've also been sick this week, not drinking as well. Many of things can contribute to food not going down well, for me sometimes it's chewing or too big of bites.
