I have one shake a day. I buy a 12 pack of Premier Protein (from SAMs) for $18.88. I buy it twice a month. I spend roughly $40.00 a month on Protein Shakes

I'm not quite 3 months post-op and I'm finding that I'm starting to crave more of a variety of foods. Unfortunately this includes sweets and that freaks me out bc that's my drug of choice.I need to keep "safe" foods in the house for my sweets cravings' date=' which usually hit at night. I have light yogurt and sf pudding, which are doing the trick for now.
What are some of your go-to foods when you're craving sweets? Nothing that I'd have to cook, but something quick that I can snack on before bed? Thanks!![/quote']
I eat the Atkins Endulgence treats. Like right now I have the Atkins Peanut Butter cups and chocolate coconut bars ( like a Mounds bar) in my pantry. They are perfect for my late night sweet tooth cravings. I buy them at Wal-Mart.

I live in Orange. 5 minutes from Louisiana state line.
Oh! I live in Sulphur, LA. Not far from Orange

-The first time I struggled to buckle a seat belt in a car. I was avioding scales for months because I was in such denial.-Buying clothes online only because nothing decent looking fits me from a store.
-Not being able to walk for more than a block without being out of breath.
-The biggest factor was very recently graduating with a Criminal Justice degree and realizing that I won't be able to pass the physical to work in Law Enforcemene unless I change my life completely and lose weight.
I also have a degree in Criminal Justice. I work in law enforcement and my weight was definitely making my job tough on me. Much better now. You can do it!

I confess that I'm a little jealous of these 18 year olds. hahaha. I'm sure there are challenges to being sleeved so young' date=' but what I wouldn't give to live my 20's over without being super obese! All power to you gals. Make sure to enjoy the next few years of your life!! [/quote']
I second that! Lol

Thanks! I'm still convinced that I look more like a fish out of Water when I dance' date=' but at least while country dancing in MN I look like a coordinated fish out of the water![/quote']
I'm sure you looked fine dancing...especially in MN. Lol

Me too, but I'm back on track now.
Congrats on your newfound confidence and dancing abilities

I started pole dancing class around 240 lbs a few months after surgery. The poles at my class hold up to 250 lbs so those wanting to try it go for it!! I still can't do spins with both feet of the ground but it is awesomely fun and I look forward to it every week. There are only 3 poles in my class and no judging. Love it!I chaperoned my daughters band trip back in May to Carowinds on my preop diet and could only fit on a few rides. This year I will fit my butt into every roller coaster they have. I also want to zip line and sky dive .
I'll have to see if they have any pole dancing classes where I live. Lol

What does everyone do when eating out? If I don't order something I feel like a cheapskate. I If I do order something I only eat about 1/4 or it. Then the waiter or friend or whomever I'm with usually asks' date=' "Is there a problem with your dinner?" or "Didn't you like it?" I don't want to go into lengthy discussions about my surgery with people I don't know very well. I don't mind bringing the majority of my dinner home but just feel uncomfortable with the whole situation. How does everyone else handle it?[/quote']I love going out to eat, because I always have 2 days or more worth of left overs! Anyway, when asked if the food was ok when the wait staff sees I only ate a fraction and ask for a box, I always smile and say "it was delicious, thank you." I've never had the conversation go further than that

Pole dancing' date='Belly dancing,
Running
Sky diving,
White Water rafting,
Para sailing and para gliding
Maybe even try out surfing[/quote']
I've always wanted to pole dance!

Mine did that once I started exercising after surgery. I'm pretty sure it was a potassium deficiency. If you are pretty new post op I'd consult with Dr to make sure it's not blood clot.
-
I agree with the advice everyone above gave. Seek help, get back to basics. You can do this!!!!
I'm here to support you! PM me if needed!

How many calories?I cannot remember, but it was minimal. Plus each pop was like 3 oz of Fluid so it helped me stay hydrated. The OP might know calories, I'm 6 months post and haven't had any in about 5 months.
-
Right after my surgery I concentrated more on getting Fluid in rather nutrients, and Protein. I ate a lot of SF Popsicles and crystal lite flavored water. I had trouble getting Protein Shakes in, but would sip on Chike drink all day.
-
I also loved the SF Blue Bell Popsicles right after surgery. They were a life saver

I lost my sense of smell in an accident when I was 13 so would give anything to acquire this super power. I am worried about my taste however. I'm a cake decorator/baker and generally love to cook and try new things. My family loves to be my guinea pigs but generally if I'm going to put something on my sale list I need to know what it tastes like. I know not a great occupation for somebody who is looking at wls' date=' but it is what it is. I've gone from eating whole pieces of cheesecake, cakes, etc to eating a bite just to know the taste. And been able to lose 34.8lbs pre op while doing so. I am worried about the future though if my taste is extremely altered[/quote']You're sense of taste is also messed up for awhile too, but not forever, just like bionic smell doesn't last forever
