We weren't allowed back into our residents that night so we drove to my parents house in long beach. We just got back now. My place is ok there's just a smokey smell' date=' there were 20 apts destroyed though and I can't believe those people lost all their possessions because of a single car fire. Here's an article that I saw. However it wasn't contained at 10 pm we were there till one and it was still going.
I'm glad your place is ok. That must of been a scary experience.

I was sleeved on Jan. 7 2013 and my weight stopped as soon as I added Protein shakes' date=' which was 1 week after surgery. I drink at least 64oz.of Water and get 80 grams of Protein per day. I also added walking to my routine. I lost 18lbs on pre-op diet and 14 lbs 1 week after surgery but now the scale has stopped. What gives?[/quote']Your weight loss has not stopped forever. The Protein drinks did not stop your weight loss. You are experiencing the first dreaded stall. The scale will move, just continue with your fluids and Proteins.
I was too weak to get on my scale until week three, plus I had read about people gaining weight immediately after surgery, and I didn't want to see that. Lol.

I color mine still. I don't think it makes the shedding any worse than what it is already

I didn't have to lose weight before surgery but I did have to quit smoking at least a month before. I just made 7 months post op and 8 months smoke free.
Is there a time limit about the smoking? Maybe wait closer to surgery to quit, and work on the 20lbs first. I don't know I'd I could've done both that far in advanced to surgery.
I used nicotine Patches and suckers to quit. And honestly I was so out of it, and in pain immediately post op that I never even thought about putting my patch on, so I've been without my patch since around the middle of June.
It's hard. I am 34 and have smoked since I was 16. I miss smoking more than food.
Good luck!

I lost 4lbs this week, that's the most I've lost in a week in awhile!!!

I feel your pain. I have BCBS, but my employer has a WLS restriction. No how, no way, no matter what. I know that a lot of people go to Mexico because of the price, it scared me too much. I took out a loan from my credit union, my surgery cost me $14,000. I pay a $350 a month note for 4 years. Best money I've ever spent.

I stayed with my mom after surgery, both of her dogs slept with me, I had no problems.

Congrats!

I didn't have one either, I didn't have any issues because of it.

My doc sent me home with a drain for 6 days after surgery. I was instructed to drink grape Kool aid and look for the color purple in the drain. If I saw purple I was to call his office immediately.

I had a drain for 6 days after surgery, that's just how my surgeon does things. I was also in a lot of pain, but I really don't think it was the drain. My pain was from the incision where my stomach got pulled out. Also my surgeon said "I stabbed you 5 times, it's gonna hurt." lol. It will get better. Good luck!
