  1. I was sleeved 3/12 I didn't have any complication with the surgery. I went home the next day, I used pain meds only a couple of nights for the soreness. Not bad at all. The only thing that I will tell you, is to be prepared for the emotional roller coaster that comes with all of this. For me its been an extremely slow weight loss process. Ive been on one long stall that has kept me on edge..ugh...that's where most of my "was this worth it" & "will I ever really lose weight" thoughts come in. But then I tell myself that this has to work because I'm following the guidelines and doin my best :) No regrets!

  2. Rizabonita' date=' I sure am. I'm losing inches faster than lbs, but I'm almost 50lbs down now. I try to eat more, I just can't ...it hurts.[/quote']

Wow! That's awesome!!...I was sleeved 3/12 and I'm only down bout 31lbs. The scale hasn't moved for a couple of weeks, I was eating 400-500 calories a day and was told by my NUT that I'm suppose to be eating bout 800-900 calories (hard to do, mainly because I feel guilty for eating that much) to lose weight, but still stalled :/

  3. You're Lucky you can get all that in. At that stage' date=' I could barely get 16oz of Fluid a day, and almost dehydrated myself. I still only eat about 500 calories a dag, and was sleeved March 2. Good for you for getting in your Protein...I don't get quite enough :-([/quote']

Are u still losing weight eating only 500 calories a day??

  4. I was sleeved on 3/12/12. My breath was kicking so bad. I'd brush my teeth and within minutes it would reek again. I asked my doc at my two week post op appt and he told me it was normal. He said that it was all the Protein I was drinking that was the getting rid of the "fat". He told me that it could even affect body odor. For me it was just my bad breath. I'm 7wks post op and don't have that problem anymore.

  5. As you will eventually see' date=' no amount of preparation will spare you the emotions that come with this change.[/quote']

I so agree w u on this. I had this surgery because I WAS READY for a change but I was never told that I would have such immense emotions. I know we will overcome this but ppl will only understand how we feel when they too experience this.

  6. All of you' date=' try shaking things up if you truly feel that you're not losing well. Add in a few calories/carbs, or decrease both. Try not exercising for a couple of days if you've been really working hard, or, if you haven't been exercising, add in a little extra. I'm not talking marathons here, just add in 15 minutes on the treadmill or bike, or take away that same 15 minutes if you've been steadily doing it. Change the exercise you're doing. Sometimes you just have to shock your body out of a rut.

UP your Water. Water makes us feel better, removes toxins, and helps flush that nasty fat out of our systems. The recommendation is 64 oz daily, but I believe that power-losers like Lil Miss Diva drank up to 100 oz a day during the losing phases.

Make sure you're getting in your Protein and that you are eating ENOUGH. While it may seem that 500 calories a day is a terrific way to lose, it's not really. Your body need fuel to run properly. Without fuel, it holds onto every calorie it gets.

I'm religious about the water and Protein and getting in my Vitamins. Everything else is pretty flexible for me. I've had a couple of stalls and my losses have really slowed down since February, but I've been working out hardcore (for me) and I'm seeing results in my size and in my measurements. When I'm not losing pounds is when I see myself shape-shift. I'll take the trade-off.[/quote']

I'd take that trade off too..I wouldn't pay attention to the scale :) thnx for the suggestions! Very helpful info.

  7. I was sleeved on 3-1 the first two weeks the weight came right off. Now I stall out for a few days/week or so and then lose only a pound! I know whatcha mean. I'm feeling very disappointed too! I think it's very normal' date=' but I still don't like it! Starting weight was 187 I am currently 155. So only 32lbs!![/quote']

I don't like it either...at this point I'm extremely discouraged...exercise doesn't seem to make a difference either...ugh...holding on to hope! And more patience :)

  8. I started at 262, now I'm 231....It's good to know that I'm not the only one...believe me I've been patient but can't help getting frustrated. The darn scale won't budge and I don't notice my clothes fitting any different...I started using my fitness pal in hopes that it will help me with the food intake and so on...I'm wondering if I should've opted for the roux-en-y instead...ugh :/
