  1. Definitely being preggers has alot to do with it. I know many who have totally defilled until after pregnancy. That sounds dangerous to me!! Good Luck and thanks for the message. I think with men stress and pms stress....it's what's making getting solid foods down difficult.

  2. I've been doing the fill/defill/fill/defill dance and I'm going crazy! I was 7.5 (1.5cc added) and I couldn't get Water down...defilled 1cc 2 days later to (6.5). Was at that for 3 weeks....it seemed to have disappeared, so i went for another smaller fill this time (.50cc for total of 7cc). Instead of getting comfortable, it just got tighter and tigher over the next week. Managed Protein Shakes and a little water. Defill (.25cc to total 6.75cc). So far I'm very tight in the morning (coffee doesn't make it) water is ok....but that's it. I had some Soup for lunch and that went well. If I can eat a small portion of Protein for dinner I'll assume then this is my sweet spot. I have lost 12 lbs in the last couple of weeks with all these fills and defills. I feel like a mental case or something. But I can't help if it gets so tight, I can't drink water. I want some restriction obviously (why we have the band) but not to the extend that I have trouble with water. Do you think I'm at a sweet spot now?????? Honestly I'm exhausted!! 6.5 I didn't feel a thing....6.75 it's still tight but I can eat and drink a little.

  3. Quick Update and Warning! So I went in Wednesday afterwork to get the fill. They gave me 1.5 for a total of 7.5...it was tight, but I was able to drink Water in the office. By the time I got home, I was so tight, nothing would go down. I had reflux Wednesday and Thursday night (on nothing but saliva) and by Friday I was desperate! I seriously needed a defill. Lucky for me, the nurse was at the clinic and I got a 1cc defill. I felt IMMEDIATE relief and I lost 10lbs in the 2 days I couldn't eat or drink. (I hope THAT stays off!!). I'm at 6.5cc right now and so far,so good. I hope this one lasts. My WARNING to you all: Please go slowly with the fills! Especially if you think your getting close to that sweet spot!

  4. OMG...I'm so sorry to hear about that! For me the rebanding was ALOT more intense than the initial banding. I found that easy breazy! The re-banding, I had massive gas and gas pains, more new scares, changed the port location from sterum to the middle of tummy...and of course the clear fluids for a week, full fuids for 2 weeks and mush for 2 weeks really really SUCKED during Christmas! Good Luck Sweetie. I can see how you'd feel frustrated and pissed off. I don't blame you.

  5. Sure enough...I went for my 4th fill (1.5cc) for a total of 7.5 cc and now I can hardly swallow Water. I'm extremely stressed out and anxious about this. My chest feels heavy and everything I drink comes back up. I'm going for a defill tomorrow afternoon.....THANK GOD! I also had reflux through the night....whatever I did manage to keep down (soup wise and water wise) it came up through the night! I HATE THIS

  6. Hi Angel,

Sorry to hear about the tightness. Are you drinking late in the evening? When I had this problem I'd stop all eating and drinking by 7pm...it usually helped. It might be you just need a slight adjustment of a defill....maybe to 7.70 or 7.65...a little sometimes makes a big deal!

  7. I hear you! The second time around is much more painful. I'm exactly 1 month out today....and I'm still swollen, bruised and as he replaced it all, he gave me a new port...with a new location...it's a little lower in my abdomin and I now have a new little dent on my tummy. Battle scars....geez....your right! I've been super depressed too. I guess it being winter doesn't help....but I just feel like this my last chance. I hope your feeling better. Did you get any pain meds? I have Tylenol#3 just in case!

  8. Thanks! Yup...doing as much walking as possible....and gas x is my friend! it's been over 3 weeks now...and I'm on solids and feeling a little better...especially after a bm! Still feel a little swollen and bloated...but the bruising is almost gone and I'm going for my first fill Jan.7th....

  9. Thanks for the kind words. I know it's no fault of mine, but it feels awful gaining back the weight. At the moment, it's down to 130lbs loss...but I'm still ahead. It seems this "complication" is what has slowed down things and made me gain back 20lbs as well. After having an extended abdominoplasty you REALLY don't want to gain 20lbs....I feel super bloated all the time. I'm really looking forward to fluids for the next almost 3 weeks! So I'm still obese at 198lbs....and I'd like to finally finally get down to a normal BMI weight........160lbs. I've never been able to get there.
