  1. This life is your journey, no one else's. We are losing weight so we can have a normal life. We are learning to indulge just a little, every once in a while. 1/2 an ice cream bar is probably a victory for you. In the past you probably would have eaten a lot more than that. Continue your weight loss journey knowing that you will succeed because it looks to me like you are doing a great job.

  2. Plan things for lunch and Snacks that are easy and not messy. My favorite lunches are deli turkey and a slice of low fat cheese rolled up, greek yogurt or my very favorite is to take tuna, feta cheese and non-fat miracle whip and mix them together to taste. It makes 2 lunches. Easy snacks are string cheese or nuts (my favorite is pistachios). Just take time to prepare and plan the night before so you are ready to just grab it in the morning amd go.

  3. I started out saying I was just eating healthier, or doing Atkins or stuff like that. I finally decided to own up to having weight loss surgery whenever anyone asked. The responses I have gotten have all been 100% supportive. I have several people at work that are really interested in the procedure now and come to me with questions, etc. It is a personal choice what you reveal, so do whatever you feel is right for you.

  4. I was a little scared of the surgery, but mostly scared of failing. I had failed everything else I had tried, why would this be any different? But it is different. You are getting a powerful tool to help you. You can do it. And you know what? All the changes are so worth it in the end when you walk into a regular size womens clothing department, and that really cute thing that caught your eye ends up fitting!!!

  5. I went to my first seminar over 2 years before I had surgery. I decided after that seminar that if I did everything they said you had to do after surgery such as exercise, eat right, etc., then I could lose the weight and not have surgery. WRONG!! Then 4 months prior to my surgery I went to another seminar and this time the sleeve was being offered and I jumped at it. I was not going to wait 6 months to negotiate the insurance requirements so I went the self-pay route. I did do a lot of online research prior to my surgery and it just reinforced my decision to get the sleeve.

  6. We have all felt that way. Follow your eating plan outlined by your dr and/or nutritionist. You will learn what works the best for you as you gain a little experience with this. It is a whole new way of life and you don't wake up from surgery knowing exactly what you need to do. I eventually learned what foods I lost weight best with, and those I didn't. You will be successful, keep telling yourself that, you can do it.
