It's funny but I don't recall my doctor saying any of that...I'm glad about this thread I do t feel that bad now I'm three weeks post op and thought something was wrong not losing weight...thanks guys!

Yeah I'm heading back to work Monday...I really have no idea what I'll be eating and don't want to vomit at work as it looks bad if the nurse is throwing up Any suggestions?

Hey judych, since I was banded on the 17th I'm still not on any real food, just shakes another day or two then I start mashed....to be totally honest I'm actually scared about that although it will be nice to simulate chewing I'm kind scared how I'll go when this period starts when I'm back at work...

I was also wondering whether I was going through caffeine withdrawals as well...hence the initial night sweats. Had a whole bunch of tests pre op including thyroid and all normal...& to the girls in Victoria I'd love to be able to be cold. Maybe I should move lol

For me it's been a week now since surgery, and the first day or two was the worst...they say move around and like most ppl I probably rolled my eyes, but damn it works get up and move as soon as you can. No marathons just a couple minutes walking....first day or two I thought I was in the movie aliens and thing something was going trying to get out of me lol it's a lot better now.

On the nights sweats they have ceased the last two nights....but still over heat but not anywhere close to the night sweating I had the first three nights. It's Melbourne winter and im in a t shirt? Lol

Hey judych the more the merrier....I'm finding bending getting easier although there is some dull pain...I know this one might be weird but I'm now dealing with my time of month as well as my band...to be honest I'm not sure who I pissed off on that one but overall have had a 20min walk and a little garden raking...how about you?

That's excellent but yeah they do say you'll get tired a little quicker initially...but an hour good work. How are you doing with bending over do you still get much discomfort from that?

Hey newme2014 my surgery went well a lot of gas...which of course meant a lot of pain for two days especially in my back. But finally have settled somewhat still some dull port pain intermittently...how are you going?

That's great....same here been walking around house but still getting intermittent dull pain from my port....

Oh thank god I'm three day post op and for the last two nights have suffered night sweats....it's cold out and I've stopped turning heater on cause the first night I did that I had to turn a fan on instead...any ideas as I'm only 41 and already got tested for menopause?

As you I'm on day 3 and it's a lot better today...did some more walking which really helps with the gas and manage three shakes which surprised me...and no your not too far anyone.

Hey all was banded the 17th may so fairly new looking for a buddy/mentor in Australia, melbourne or anyone thats looking for similar.

Myself was banded on the 17th the gas pains where annoying and uncomfortable to say the least especially the back pain....does anyone else get hot flushes cause I'm not going through menopause and I find I really don't have any appetite as yet? Anyone can relate?

I'm having my lap band on the 17, two days from now left. I'm a little nervous about the whole thing....but also somewhat glad it will be done with....???

I hate to say this but day 10 and I'm finally getting used to the shakes, ...I'm glad optislim different flavors makes it better...it's so sad I'm looking forward to them...which I think has more to do with my hunger but still taste good...although I am a little more blunt the usual

Why are there so many food ads?

Have made it through day 3 of the shakes...and apart from some quiet irritability I've nearly made it through and all are still alive....im constantly focusing why I'm doing this which is what's getting me through. I want the real me to get a chance to live as opposed the bigger me who holds back...it's my time.

Day 2 on shakes as good as they taste I felt like wonder women today as had food offered to me from every angle. And I'm hungry it's sad too look forward to a shake

What are you guys drinking? my strawberry shake is not bad...I'm on optislim.

Started the liquid diet today...at least the stuff doesn't taste bad...but still three weeks of this is going to be interesting...???³

Yeah I don't really have that option...

I'll do my best if I don't turn into a biatch when I'm on the liquid diet....lol
