I'm not here to say anything negative. Just a few points. Your body has just been through a major surgery. Your new stomach is still healing. For me, I wouldn't try this in fear that I would damage my healing stomach!

I'm still preop so I don't have personal experience on the subject. However, in the support group this week, they discussed this topic. The suggestion was if using Water, use warm water to mix and then refrigerate overnight to chill.

Love these dreams! I'm waiting on approval and have been obsessed thinking about the surgery and doing research. I'm always looking at info on the iPad before I go to sleep. Somehow in my dream, I was in a hospital but I was pregnant giving birth (49 and we never had children). I was in total shock and was very confused because I was supposed to be getting the sleeve. I just remember feeling very confused. I guess it had to do with me reading a post and someone comparing the pain to a c-section! Glad that I didn't wake up to a screaming child! Lol. Dreams can be so weird!

I just googled Ralphie May. There is an article about him having wls but it states gastric bypass. I'm not sure how accurate the article is though. You know we can't trust everything on the Internet!

Sounds like there are some experienced Mexico folks on this thread. I am waiting on insurance approval but wondering what I will do if I get denied. I've seen lots of people on the site have great success with going there for the surgery. I don't want this to come across in a negative way but I need to be educated. If I were to go to Mexico for the surgery, what would happen if there were complications and I needed extra medical care. Would I be responsible for those charges? I'm not sure that my insurance would cover out of the country and due to a surgery that they may deny me for. Any thoughts on this? Thanks in advance!

Great question. I've heard that folks have regained with the gastric bypass because they stretched their pouch. So, is it also possible to stretch the smaller stomach after the sleeve surgery. I'm still pre- op and waiting on insurance approval. Interested in hearing feedback from those that have more insight.

Well chitowngirl, I have no idea what it feels like to do a 1000 sit-ups but I imagine that means pretty soar!

Yes Artsong, I was younger too with the GB. I guess the pain level depends on several factors! I know that it will be worth the small time of pain!

Thanks Jerseygirl. This definitely helps me!

So I'm pre- op and just curious as to what the pain of the surgery is comparable to. I've never had a child so that wouldn't relate to me. I did have my gall bladder removed about 12 years or so ago laparoscopic. Can anyone say if its similar or worse? Thanks!
