Lots of people do not realize that it takes your effort to lose and keep the weight off. I choose not to hear people give 100% credit for my future weight loss to the band. Nor to hear "you're not THAT big" I have told only my husband and one out of town friend who was banded herself. I may change my mind later.

pre op tests found gallstones. I have opted to have the gallbladder removed first, this will delay my lapband to the first of August.

After all of these tests, it was revealed I have gallstones. Doctor can not band at the same time the gb is removed. I decided to have the gb removed before the lapband.....my journey will be delayed until August 1st. Surgery May 31st for gallbladder....I get to experience the pain twice....yippee....but still excited. .

I am dressing to go to my 1st appointment with my batiatric doctor. Excited, anxious and overwhelmed. Can not wait to report back,

We will be going out of town in June...drving for about 10 hours. Does anyone have any travel stories soon after being banded? Also, how long must you stay out of the water ie the ocean or pool?

Google meat tenderizer - couple of different sites give ideas. I would try that before regurgitation

I promise- the psychiatrist said they recommend drinking meat tenderizer. ( this came up during a what if question session)

I have not been banded yet, but I will support you. You can do this, sometimes our significant others sabotage us unintentionally. Talk to them and ask for support. Go back to the basics you can. Do this.

Thank you everyone, I have to see a nutritionist and a psych evaluation. I thought being self pay that would not be necessary. Oh and I have to get a pregnancy test -which is comical in several ways! I started a video diary and took some pre- plan pictures. Needless to say I am a little ashamed. But this is all about a new beginning for me and my family. My bmi was 33 but I have a few co- morbidly issues. Pray for me and I'll pray for you too! We can do this!
