  1. Thx ladies for the encouragement. I really want this. More like need this. I'm wondering if the insurance companies have ever made anyone do the 12 month program and tgen deny them.
  2. Like u I'm married to a man that is attracted to curvy women but my husband seems to be supportive. I've assured him that in the past I was the same size as I presume I will eventually be and he was attracted to me because I had curves with less fat so he says well go for it. I'm not worried about our marriage failing as we've just recently rekindled it after him chasing me for months so I'm not worried about that because it made me realize that he lives me and my personality not what I look like. I tried to get rid of him for a year and when I let him come back I told him I was going to have the surgery. So I say all this to say your husband loves you and not your weight continue to assure him that he's the one and plan date nights like watching movies etc just keep the spark and communicate and everything will be fine!
  3. Was it hard to get your insurance to pay for the revision? What went wrong with your band? I've got to go thru the same thing but I've still got about 3 1/2 months to deal with the insurance requirement.

    Appeal Letter...

Mstratto, congrats that's just around the corner. Keep me posted!
  5. Ok pardon my title but I need to rant. So my daughter got paid today and treated me to a very late lunch so I considered it my dinner. Of course I've been watching what I eat and counting calories so I didn't eat all m y food I said I'll save it for later maybe even lunch tomorrow. Ok so it's almost 2 in the morning and I should not be eating but I go downstairs to get a fork full or two of my leftovers. Mind u she brought her dad two sandwiches from Wendy's and a 5 piece nugget(he's skinny as a bean pole). Low and behold my youngest is eating all the damn hashbrowns (about to fry them, you guessed it I won't buy anymore of those, she's 19 and lazy as hell). I open my container and all my food is gone( this was a $15 plate of Mexican chicken and veggies and its all gone. The 19 year said she didn't eat it, I ask my husband he said he ate some of it and the 19 year old thinks its funny. I ask the oldest one (she's the one that brought it and had her leftovers, so I'm pretty sure she didn't eat it). So I say "oh since I'm the fat b**** I guess I'm not supposed to eat. It pisses me off because I make sure that I cook and buy dinner that everybody likes but they all seem to say screw me and act as if I'm not entitled to any. I'm so discussed and sick of this, I'm not cooking anymore this month and I'm damn sure not going grocery shopping! Ugh I'm so angry I just want to throw every bodies food away.i don't know if I'm having a fat girl moment or should I just say forget it I didn't need the food anyway? Sorry for the language but I'm disgusted!
  6. Ladies, I got a kick out your replies, the dog food one was priceless. I'm also going to fix a bottle of the tea for these gluttons in my house. I see we've all had to deal with the selfish family members. I've learned that it doesn't matter if it says fat free, diet, veggie, sugar free or any of the others they will eat it because its mine.
  7. Thanks everyone! I'm glad I am not alone! They're going to pay for that one. They even drink all my diet Gold Peak Tea, every time. I guess I don't drink fast enough for them. Smdh!

    A couple questions...

I'm curious to know what insurance you have because I have Anthem BCBS and I had to do the 12 month too but I haven't had to meet with anyone only the over the phone consults with the insurance reps and my biweekly phone meetings. You're the first one I've seen on here that has to do the 12 month.

    Appeal Letter...

Any luck with your appeal? I have to have the revision too and hope that my insurance will pay for it.

There is a first for everything

I feel your pain. I don't want to experience your situation so I opted not to even discuss it with any of my sisters it's enough that I said something to my mom (only because she had it 20 years ago) she recently started walking indoors and has jump started her weight loss again (now I think she's smaller than me) so now she keeps calling me fat then in the next breath she talks about how small I'll be after my surgery so now I'm thinking I won't tell her when its actually done. I think she'll be jealous so I'll keep it between my husband my kids and my BFF. I've never in my life called my mom fat but she doesn't mind calling me fat mind you we are about the same size and I haven't even had the surgery yet. I've got about 3 1/2 months to go before my insurance will approve. Good luck and give her time and space they both are proven to heal all wounds????

    What Is Your Ideal Size?

Since I was a 14 petite trying on size 12 slacks and still felt and looked big only 4 years ago I'm going to have to say a 8/9 but with my height a 6/7 would probably be the best choice.
  14. Hello! I've told my husband, my kids, a male friend, a female friend (which I later regretted because I think she'll be jealous after the weight loss) and my best friend (which supports me in every decision I make) oh and I've discussed it with my mom because she had it about 20 years ago so she keeps talking about how small I'll be if I lose 100 lbs. I don't plan on telling anyone else not even my sisters because I don't want them to tell other close family members. Oh and one girlfriend took me to the seminar with her but her insurance doesn't cover it so guess what now she doesn't want to hear about my journey. I've got 4 more months to go since my insurance had a 12 month requirement I had to meet and I must say I'm thankful for that because I needed to get educated and make some changes in my life.
  15. Hello! I think this is my first post but thought I'd say that I also feel like you I don't want to share my surgery details with my coworkers. I've got one girl in the office that had the surgery but won't admit it. She looked sick when she first got it done but now she starting to look normal. It could've just been the way she looked after surgery. My HR department is known for gossip so I wonder how I'm going to keep it a secret? Good luck!

    Very Frustrating Doctors Appt .

Hi Mindy please share the PCIP insurance info. Thanks!
  17. I have had the lapband for almost 5 years only to gain all the weight back I lost now I'm considering the sleeve. The band didn't give me the long term results that I wanted so can anyone share their experience with the sleeve. Are you satisfied or do you wish you had considered bypass?
  18. I am considering self pay and Mexico seems like the ideal location. Has anybody had the band removed and the sleeve procedure done at the same time in Mexico? Do you have any suggestions of what Doctors to use and what facilities to go to?

    I've Failed.

Kate, I'm looking over your numbers and you've done a great job! I know that being at a stand still can be a little discerning but think of what you have accomplished. Continue to make the proper food choices and exercise and I'm sure the weight will start dropping again. Don't be discouraged you can do this.

    Band Out Yesterday!

Hello! I'm new here too. Like you I tried the lap band and it didn't work for me so I've started my quest for the sleeve. I'm not sure though I'm thinking maybe I should be going for the gastric since I know I will lose weight with that (my Mom had it about 20 years ago). Is the band removal so early before your sleeve surgery the norm? I'm glad everything went well. Do you have a eating plan that you'll use until surgery?

    I've Failed.

Hello, I'm just starting the process and will not have surgery for a year but I already have the lap band which didn't work so now you've got me contemplating the sleeve. Should I go with gastric bypass?
